  • Missing Battery Compartment??

I purchased a 1/16 German Leopard RC tank 2A6 MBT from an online store (www.motionrc.com) and received it today (Dec. 17, 2024). When I opened the box to inspect the tank I noticed that a battery compartment with 2 screws are missing. The instruction manual shows battery compartment is located underside of the tank but there is no battery compartment/cover. Is the battery compartment located somewhere else on the tank?

OK, that's a little strange, I'd call MRCs tech support tomorrow, it's either a fluke or some freakish design change no one bother to tell anyone about

Try looking under the drivers hatch. I think the main switch, charging port, and battery are located there.

There is no charging port on heng long tanks. Heng Long have externally accessible batteries and tongde have internal batteries

MRC advertises the Leopard as having torsion bar suspension. This prohibits a bottom access battery box. Does the manual cover this new development, say with an addendum or...? For instance, the Tongde tanks that have torsion bars require opening the hull or charging in situ because of this.
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

There is a video on MRC that explains this, at about minute 6:00. Also, it's mentioned that there is an addendum with the manual explaining this. Perhaps yours didn't have it?

By the way, I use MRC's Admiral 3500mah battery packs. They're good for at least a couple of hours of running.

That is quite nice that HL had moved the battery compartment to the top.

After contacting MRC this afternoon, I was able to locate the battery compartment, which is located in the front of the tank. It took a while to open the battery cover. An addendum to the manual was not included in the HL box.

                Thanks for useful information.

I also like that they moved it from the bottom. I never use the bottom compartments anyway. Then I was forced to seal them up and remove the box.
