Anyone has this HL Leo2A6 or see a review anywhere? This is the metal drive chain version with torsion bar suspension. HL product ID is 3889-004

It's just the winter paint scheme on a standard Leopard 2. Nothing special. It still needs a better paint job. But overall the Leopard 2 is a decent running tank.

According to MotionRC.com, the winter camo version is a brand new design with torsion bar suspension. The HL stock number is HLG3889-004.

When I wanted to buy, MotionRC.com is sold out on the plastic version. So I went with the Torro metal lower chassis for my torsion bar upgrade for the Leo2A6. I use a Tamiya hybrid track with the Torro chassis.

I replaced the plastic upper chassis with the Torro upper chassis which had a latch with the Torro lower chassis.

Brand new is the new standard version. Motion is and has always been rather poor with their product description accuracy. All of the HL Leopard 2 tanks now have torsion bars just like the new Abrams does. The paint scheme regardless of NATO, desert or winter are all the same basic tank. Nothing special about one over the other.

I totally agree with you on the comment on MotionRC product description. I have to email with their staff to get information.

Heng Long is doing the right thing to change to torsion bar suspension for their larger model Modern MBT. The coil spring suspension works poorly on them after a full metal drive chain, road wheel upgrade. I received my HL Abrams V2 a month ago with a damaged turret. I agreed to do the repair myself if Toucan Hobby send me the parts instead of requesting a return of the tank.

I honestly would have preferred the green camo but they were out at the time. Still I’m pretty happy with the winter despite living in Florida :D
