You really should post your work on the 1/10 scale Jeep in a new thread and show people how you’re doing the upgrading. That does sound really interesting project and I know a lot of people do have the 1/10 Jeep since it’s been the only one available for quite awhile.
that way people can find your discussion, they won’t see it it here since this thread is for the 1/16 Jeep.

I have 2 JJRC RC military vehicles. Both are knockoff of very expensive RC from China. These JJRC are surprisingly cheap, but run very well both indoor and outdoor.

The first is the JJRC Q75 1/16 scale 6WD truck. In the pictures below, you can see my motor and metal drive shaft upgrade. The RC receiver was upgraded with one with higher current ESC. The metal gear steering servo is hidden. I also upgraded the battery to 2S18650 with high quality Li-Io protected cells.

I recently acquired the JJRC Q8815 1/10 scale MB Jeep. It is waiting in my job q to be upgraded. The pictures below are shown with original parts.


All these JJRC upgrades are simple one-to-one drop in with metal parts. The only painting I did was the Jeep seat cushion. Not worth a separate thread. 2 years ago, I used mostly WPL parts for the 6WD truck upgrade. This time, JJRC Jeep sellers have their own upgrade parts

It is way too big for the 1/16 Willy. I considered it for my JJRC 1/10 scale Jeep, but gave up too. It is part of the 1/12 scale ROCHOBBY product.

I'd search the net for a 3D printed version. I have a "Russian/German" equivalent, I'm sure that US versions exist. Of course, then you need someone to print it.

There are various 3d printed towed buns out there. Check cults 3d and thingverse and thangs/shapeways.

That should work out ok, there is a nice 1/18 trailer made that goes with a m151 mutt that is for action figures like the small gi joes.
i have a couple m151s and a trailer. They are fairly cheap on eBay.

towing gun or trailer gave life to my RC-vehicle.
same as using figures on tank.
