    No Engine or Weapon Sound

Greetings- I have a Heng Long 1/16 scale German Tiger tank and US Sherman tank, both purchased just over 18 months ago. Last fall while driving the Tiger, all motor and firing sounds immediately failed yet the actual motor/motion, turret and firing action remain functional. This summer, the Sherman tank has done exactly the same thing. Is this a speaker issue or main board issue? Thoughts?
    Thank you

Most likely the speakers. The basic speakers do not last long at volume higher than the third setting. Even then they tend to blow out after six months of use. I would recommend at a minimum upgrading to the HL 7.1 speakers. These too should not be run at much over the third setting level for extended periods.

If you like to run your tank at near maximum setting then your best option it is look into an aftermarket speaker.

I've experienced the same thing on my HL 7.1 boards. My Kranvagn is going on it's 3rd speaker. I've blown a Taigen and a HL speaker. I'm going to find a better aftermarket one that will fit and hopefully it will not blow out.

My first 2 Henglong tanks I bought about 3 years ago, both had speaker failures within minutes. Toucan replaced the speaker for my first tank, and it also failed again within a minute. I ended up buying speakers from an electronics store and they have been good since.

I do not drive the Heng Long tanks enough to have speaker reliability problem. I started looking for better sounding speaker when I acquired the HL Leopard 2A6 2 years ago. The HL OEM speaker lacks the lower octave for diesel engine sound. When I get the Abrams this year, I found that the HL OEM speaker had a upper midrange peak that sound very unreal for gas turbine sound. The solution to both is a higher quality driver and a larger speaker enclosure. See the thread on speaker below:

I’m wondering anyone here is using the visaton FRS7 full range speaker. I want to up my game on the sound of my tanks particularly my leopard/abrams and merkava. They seem to have room. Will I need to use an amplifier? Or does it sound good without one? I won’t mind using an amp but I don’t know how to to wire it up. Any help
