I grew up in Hong Kong and did not leave until I was 18 years old. It was a British colony then that provided me a stable environment to receive a good western education including the concept of democracy. Don't get me wrong, there was no democracy in Hong Kong, no election, no representation. But the Brit were efficient administrator that ran a clean colonial government. Hong Kong was the first of the 4 economic little tigers in Southeast Asia. But the British made a big mistake in returning Hong Kong to China in 1997 without any concrete assurance of maintaining human right in Hong Kong. It is all history now. In my view, the Brit are good guys.

BTW, I have good ideas of the history and geography of UK.

In many ways China has tried to erase that HK was ever a colony.

I’ve had my geographical grumble. But it does make me wonder about what they teach you? And you would not have got independence with out the help of the French .

Lets get this back on track, and hopefully there will be an excellent build thread.

The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

Nope, tired of it. Even with an emoji it's not called for.

Not america hate. If you mix peoples countries up they get upset. I don’t want to be called English, I'm a Scot. I presume you would be offended if I called you Mexican, because you are on the same land mass as Mexico. If your education system doesn’t teach you these things, then it must be quite poor.

Now hopefully we can follow this build?

Maybe it's the person and not the education system. There is no reason for any hate either way or from either side. My opinion is that when he used England it was not on purpose, unlike your on purpose dig at "america". And just like the UK or Great Britain is multiple countries America can be interpreted as two continents and multiple countries.

America with a capital A. You have it lower case in multiple places but have no problems using a capital E, W and S and even M. Notice I'm not blaming your education system.

Rereading his post I think it was a simple mistake.

Now maybe we can go back to tanks?

This WAS a simple I would like to buy thread. It has long since left the F'n rails. If the troublemaker guy was so offended by that little word, I can not fathom how he might tear apart my and others work on a model tank... "Unsubscribed" from my own thread! Abandon ship!! RIP the thread!

Vintage Racer. I am sorry you feel you need to take the action you are doing. I am not offended. I do, however know the person, and have worked with him, you looked at buying from. And he is definitely a very proud Welshman. I will message you later. If you will accept it, and explain further?
I have not torn apart yours, or others work, and have said on two post to get this back on track, as I am looking forward to your build.

Been married to a Scot for 24 years, I get it. She's actually from Newmains, I said Motherwell because we've been there several times. All is well.

So it came today, along with the decals which I ordered the same day I bought the model. Just waiting on the Atak zimmret kit which is coming from Australia somewhere, and I think I'm going to order a Heng Long professional version to get all the metal parts and barrel recoil etc. There's some pretty smoking deals on eBay from Toucan. I also have a barrel smoke kit. One of these days I'm going to learn to stop sticking irons in the fire.

On a side note the turret/main gun mount was broken when I got it, USPS must have had a lot of fun throwing the box! I used regular model glue to set the parts and then reinforce them using the baking soda and super glue trick. It's amazing if you've never heard of it. You can actually tap it if you need to. It's hard as a granite.

Ok, the zimmerit came today which was surprisingly fast as it came from Australia. Purchased it from eBay as the company ATAK does not ship to the United States. Guessing it's a tariff thing. Gathered my reference material and all the stuff to include a professional edition Heng Long King Tiger that I bought on sale on Motion RC site for a Black Friday deal of $300 shipped, and photo etch grenade screens, and other metal detail parts. This beat Toucans price. Basically I'm going to take the turret from this kit and put it in the 7.0 version. And I have a 7.1 TCU for Tiger. I'll move the gun from the 7.0 into this early production turret.

It's on! I must say whoever the person was that glued the original part on this turret did not lack in the glue application area! I had to cut it off with side cutters. Then clean it up with my Foredom rotary file. Crazy!

                                This stuff looks pretty good.

So the donor pro version arrived today (complete with Abrams or Leopard 2 sound choices) along with several metal parts that came yesterday. There's some major differences between the barrels. The actual vehicle did not have the stepped barrel. It had the early barrel per the photographs (see next post)I've seen of the actual vehicle. So after looking at it for a while I've kind of concluded the only way to make it work (factory recoil mechanism) is to machine the later style barrel and get rid of the step. Since it's the recoil barrel it slides over a tube that protrudes from the gun mechanism. The older style barrel had the elongated in that pushed into the gun itself. This means I would just take it to a machine shop (I am sure a machinist would get a kick out of this job) and have it cut it down on the lathe. I don't have that capability. I can try and attempt it with a file and a drill press but that would be awful. I would never get it straight. Or I can install the later barrel and ruin the accuracy of the model.
