The Lakota came today and was in perfect condition, it came double boxed both of which are extra thick cardboard. Each piece is individually bubble wrapped and the nose was in a nice foam protective holder.

I started working on the Lakota today, I installed the raised tail pieces that came with the kit on my T-Rex 600E with no issues at all.
Once I setup the FBL I will remove the tail drive with tube from the elbow and then remove the elbow from the boom so I can install it in the fuselage.
Added a R.oban 4 blade rotor head
Next I marked and drilled the tail boom and fuselage for the fasteners.
I drilled through the ribs as they were the thickest part of the boom.
I used Foam-Tac for the nutserts because it doesn't get brittle like epoxy or CA
I will use epoxy on the horizontals so I have drilled them for better adhesion.
Scribed from point to point and drilled for the outer fins.
Next is to put the step rail on the skids.
Then centered the skid and drilled the fuselage.
She looks better on her legs...

Next step is to mount the mechanics in the fuselage, the mounts worked great in the skid mounting holes. The front mount screws into the floor but the rear mount slides under the wood catches in the rear.
Next you need to remove the raised tail so you can install the mechanics in the fuselage, besure to loosen the screws on each end of the elbow so you can reinstall it with the fuselage boom.
The Trex 600E I used was a model with the swash guide in the rear so I had to trim the fuselage some with a flapper wheel.
The rear mount slides under these two stops.
We're now ready to work on the boom.

Remove the two mounting screws at the front of the mechanics so you can slide them to the rear of the fuselage to give you enough room to get the tail boom installed. Slide the boom over the tube but leave it turn a quarter turn to the left so you can get the elbow installed.
After sliding the boom on I needed to drill a hole so I could tighten the top hole on the elbow.
Then install the torque tube and control rod.
Then install the final piece of the mechanics and tighten the last two screws.
The mechanics lined up perfectly in the fuselage.

I decided against epoxying the horizontals on and decided to use a spar and make them removable. I drilled a hole in the bottom rear corner of the stab opening which will allow the spar to run under the mechanics and help support them. I use a 4mm spar in the fuse then 6mm spars in the stabs.
I drilled a hole through the fuselage and stab to secure each side.

Next we add the horizontal fins. I just scored a line between the two ends then drilled two holes using the fin as a template.
The model comes with windows and decals but I plan to go another way and will update the thread when I do.
The last pieces are the antennas and wire cutters.
The UH-72 Lakota is a great looking helicopter and the raised tail sure makes it look larger than a 600

The Lakota is such a striking twin engine helicopter. In its EC145 form, it is often seen in flashy color schemes, but there is something so monolithic seeing it in all OD! I like helicopters best in OD or black.
What are your plans with this beautiful beast, George?

Hi, I’m the person who picked up the other 600 size UH 72 Lakota when it briefly came back in stock. I just got around to starting my build today and was truly disappointed to learn that instructions are in German. Hence I’m very grateful for your post with photos and notes. Thank you. I haven't flown it yet, it's been raining and I've had bronchitis, coughed a rib loose so all I've been flying is a recliner :(
