  • I'm not much into sport EDFs, but if I were, I'd definitely pop on the Flexjet. It's friggin' amazing.

EDFs have made light year advances since then man!! You gotta try out the new ones... the Avanti S from Freewing is a really good plane! If you want those crazy long flight time the FMS 70mm Avanti with a simple 6s 30c 4000mah pack will go for 6 mins easy! I have had one and done it myself. The new FMS Hawk gets 10 min flight times when you do touch n goes too. it stays in the air with less than half throttle and then rips to over 100mph at full throttle...

But I also agree with you on the Mig-15!! We need an 80mm for the F-86 to chase around!! I would even love to see an 80-90mm mig-17 for the F-4 to chase around!!!

Just so you can see that there are near 10 min flights possible... batteries are 6s 4000s...

I'm right there with you. I had a Habu for all of 2 months before I sold it, just had no interest in flying it at all. The only reason I got the Flexjet was because I saw it in person before it was released, and it looks close enough to the new Lockheed T-50 to make me think it's a military jet. I may even see if I can modify a T-45/BAE Hawk canopy to fit to make it a two-seater. So far I've had a blast flying it.

That it is. I just got back from Flex Innovations in Nokomis (picking up my 2nd one and saving the shipping cost)

Wow! Will be keeping my eye on that! Hopefully it flies as nicely as their B-17.

                    • The C-130 will probably be my first Avios purchase.

Same here. No retracts = no purchase>

                          • Absolutely. I’m not flying a C-130 with the gear extended the whole time. That destroys the looks of a plane of that size.

                              • One of the guys who attended the event mentioned that it had retracts with sequenced doors. I really can’t imagine a model this large not having retractable gear!

                                • Well, scale of the models would mean scale retracts would be quite small. Definitely not for grass

                                    • Listened to a podcast with "Steve" from HK who stated the test model has been extensively flown from grass with no issues. The main wheels are about 2 inches. I think short well maintained cut grass will be okay. Rocky or clumpy grass may be an issue. The list of features he discussed is impressive, retracts, landing lights on the wing tips and main gear doors as per scale, operating cargo ramp, fowler flaps, newly tooled counter rotating props, many scale details including windscreen wipers, made for 4 cell power (he tested it on 3 cell and it flies, but, just okay, but it is peppy on 4 cell) and it will come in two paint schemes, a decorated Blue Angels version and a gray version with decals applied by the buyer.
I'm looking forward to this one.

                                      • I guess I will have to wait and see when this is actually released.Hopefully HK will handle the release better than the debacle that was the bf-109 release. I am sure it will be soon...
