SIG kits are cool, but the plastic parts and the big slabs of balsa take time and a band saw!!!! LOL Looking great!!!

Fortunately, the gf got me one of those last Christmas! Yes, that fuselage is 3/4” thick in some places!

Well it ain’t happening fast, but it is happening.

Started fitting the wheel pants...9 pieces each side. Ugh, gotta get it done to get the wires finished.

Wires on top done, now for the real fun. Double wires from each wing mount to landing gear, then double wires from each gear to the center fuselage.
so when I get bored I can switch gears and work on the wheel pants!

Wanted to do some spray today, but rain was the order for the day. Lots of sanding and fitting. Flying wires now inevitable, so to work I went.

Trainer, that looks beautiful. My Uncle actually owned a P-22 Ryan. He restored it, looked better than new. I simply love the Ryan planes.

I too have always liked them, but I must admit I probably would not have ever picked out this kit as a build, had it not been a gift. It has grown on me through the course of the build and research of various different versions and models. She is truly special and look forward to many flights hopefully with this one, but it won’t be the only Ryan I build.
