Off the top of my head, 10-15 size retracts work but I'd use 25 sized or even slightly larger, something like what the F7F Tigercat or Freewing 80mm A-10 uses. The plywood mounting plates aren't predrilled so there's lots of versatility in selecting the exact retract unit to use. Fixed gear is an option, too, although I'd make Tigercat main retracts fit if I planned on flying the He-111 as a daily driver.Live Q&A every Tuesday and Friday at 9pm EST on my Twitch Livestream

Hey, just got up here in Europe and checking back through the threads. teng the strut included with the He-111 is a standard oleo strut, which is still nice to have. I'm sure someone could get a FW strut to fit, that would be nice to see but would require further cutting of the gear doors (covers, they are not actually doors on the BH HE-111). The RM400-90 retracts are intended to be used with this model and the PC-9, so should fit right in.
Attached are drawings of the included strut from the manual that is on our site.

My thoughts too Tony ;)Originally posted by Twowingtj View PostAre ther going to be other XWave retract offerings like 80 and 85 degree in the 60 -120 sizes?
I'd also like to know if XWave has a 90 degree rotation so that the plastic bodied versions from FMS and FL can be upgraded.
Desperately are needed for the Corsair, Hellcat, Warhawk, etc airframes.Warbird Charlie

I stumbled onto your new Black Horse line, when I clicked on New Airplanes on the Motion website yesterday, and I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the Black Horse Line. I was disappointed to not see the Do-335. So, I'm very happy to read that it's a possibility that you might add the Pfeil to your BH offerings. I'm VERY tempted by the Storch, but I'd rather wait on a Do-335, if there's a chance that it could be added to the Motion catalog.Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostIt's an important point to emphasize that while our initial selection online of Black Horse models is generally somewhat limited, our exclusive distribution of Black Horse in North America does allow us access to the ENTIRE product line of their products. So, if there's an existing Black Horse model you want that isn't on our product pages, such as the Do-335 as mentioned above, please post here or contact our CS Team to designate what you want and we'll add it among our upcoming shipments.
I've flown most of their aircraft at the factory and I have my favorites.---

Bob, I have a Graupner He-111 that I'd picked up at a swap meet. It's quickly become one of my favorite planes and is one of the best warbird purchases that I've made. If I didn't already have a 111, I'd be all over the BH 111. I wish that I could get a Ju-88 in the same size, to go with my 111.Originally posted by borntoolate View PostI have ordered my (first) HE-111 today! I can't wait to get her on the table. More bombers please, Alpha and Stuart! (Betty, Betty, Betty!)

Hi guys, yes we do plan to expand the Xwave retract range as we roll forwards and to meet the demands/requirements of the models as they come. This could include a nose unit if required for a model for example, but actually the Bronco uses 3 x main units, with a simple free turning strut that is supplied with the bronco nose strut able to be used in a ‘main’ unit. This is why we sell the RM400-90 as an individual unit.
i can see the Do-335 get quite a bit of chatter about it, so logic would dictate we may well see in as soon as we can get it.... we’ll see, but again, please keep the suggestions coming, happy you guys are digging the range.

Hi Stuart. I just think part of the good looks of the OV-10 are the way the original struts look. I'll probably try to mod your struts to look like the picture. If not I can just fab some new struts if needed.Originally posted by Stuart.MotionRC View PostHi guys, yes we do plan to expand the Xwave retract range as we roll forwards and to meet the demands/requirements of the models as they come. I'm really glad to see this line made available to us. I am most certainly going to indulge some.

Always good to hear people willing and able to go all out with these additional considerations. There is a limit to what we can do to within the scope of a project but of course as customers and modellers is always more we can do and that’s part and parcel of the hobby for me.
Glad to hear people already thinking creatively, I’ve already started to think myself how I’d like to mod the Tubro Beaver once I have the gas build out covered for media, it’s an infectious process ????

I just had a thought, and its a coincidence you happen to be at the right place at the right time.
What isnt available and hard to come across the freewing 1400mm mossie struts, i might have some long over due Durafly BF-110 struts left over. If my memory serves me correct they are also 5mm struts which would then fit in to the RM400-90 retract unit as well....
with some cosmetic work on these struts, it may work? concerns feedback would be appreciated.
