I didn't use the pilot file above. The pilot is printed with the main cockpit file.

    many thanks for the links

Yep that's the ones. You have to make the HUD screen and I made some hoses from 2.5mm copper wire. Screens inside were made by cutting small squares of clear plastic, painting landscape and plane shape in clear Tamiya paint then sticking chrome tape behind to simulate illumination. Same chrome tape for rear view mirrors.
Added weight was 75g, still managed 30mm aft CG without using the supplied weight. 10S SMC 4400mah HVLi . Removed airbrake and fit a 4S in the space, cover held down by magnet and razor blade embedded in foam.

thats the link i came across for a more detailed cockpit. If there is another could you send the link?

yea plan is to get a air brush kit with the compressor. Would need to do mixing test ect first before proceeding to paint on the model.

I'm sure the file I used was a tenner or so. If you go the airbrush route, get a compressor too. The air cans are awful, only get one or two presses before it freezes up and the pressure drops or you get spatters. External mix is OK for large areas, infact it's probably quicker but you'll wish you'd bought internal mix as soon as you wish to do fine or feathered work.

Looks like I will need to get myself an air brush kit 😁 because that looks brilliant.

yea I have seen this 3dp cockpit but i cant justify the £60+ to buy all the files just for that one file. Looks great and much better than stock one.

I simulated the dual surfaces with some subtle shading using a Tamiya weathering kit. It obviously works then lol, thanks for noticing.
only thing with getting the official colour mixed up, is assuming Freewing used the official colour.
If your doing an RAF one, our radome , leading edge of the canards and vert stab is a shade darker than the fuse grey.
I didn't cover the whole model, just went over the decals. I had water slides made up by Custom Model Decals UK, unfortunately they are not taking orders due to the owner being very ill. Very sad as he mentioned how ill he was whilst working on my job.

Also, if you need masking tape that doesn't peel the paint, I use the pale pink delicate surface one from , you guessed it, B n Q. You can leave it on for days with no issue, don't use the delicate Frogtape. I do still roll it off rather than pull, just to be extra careful.
have you modified the trailing edge to be a full length control surface ? Great looking paint job. Ive had Callie graphics make me some decals for a 1 squadron typhoon.

Thanks Alphonso. Ive had a dig on the WWW and found the british standard code for it and a couple places that can make this colour in spray cans.

ill look in to the b&q mix and roller method but haven’t done that method before. Cheers.

Doubt you'll get an answer here mate. It's actually a quite complex colour, very subtle blue hint. Can't see you getting spray to match it exactly. Either buy a few tamiya shades, mix em and airbrush on or get B n Q to scan it and mix a sample pot for you.
I did that but it wasn't a close match so went back and found the correct colour using their colour swatch cards. I found the colour but the shade was too dark or light so bought both, mixed them 50 / 50 and it was spot on.
From memory, the 2 sample pots I bought were Made in The Shade and Endless Shadows in B n Q Valspar Matt.
No need to spray it although you can thin and airbrush it on. What I do is roll it on with a mini foam roller ( also from B n Q ). Do it as a few very, very thin coats, like almost a dry roller and it will go down almost spray smooth. If done outside, it will dry in a few minutes this way. To match the smooth finish of the stock paint, get a very fine foam sanding pad, 320+ grit ( also from B n Q or screwfix ), quick rub and brush off and your done.
