I know a few others have done mods to the FLIR chin pod, and I though I might take a shot at it.... Planning to use a purple LED in the center barrel. The anti collision light cover is printed in transparent red, but not lit. Option to print a flat lens (clear PETG) or purchase a mini 13mm LED lens from AliExpress. -
Thankful the V2 wings I ordered arrived yesterday. The protective packaging was very basic, but only a minor dent next to the aileron control arm was observed. It was caused by the control horn on the opposite wing. Feeling very lucky the other items in the box did not get an opportunity to leave lasting impressions on the wings.....

Still waiting like many others :disappointed:Flew my V1 with V2 wings. It's like a different plane. Low speed handling is better, MUCH easier to land..
If you have a surviving V1 and can manage to get hold of a set of V2 wings I definitely recommend the upgrade. You'll need a pushrod set and a 9g reverse servo in addition to the wings.Leave a comment:

I did send an email to a rep that was actually corresponding with me about the V2 wings. I don't want to shoot the messenger, but maybe he can convey the message to the purchasing department. I'm willing to bet if they brought in 50 sets they would have sold. I still feel that V1 purchasers should have been given a discount and a 1st priority on purchasing a V2 wing set!:rolling_eyes:Leave a comment:

Last time I was waiting on similar parts they got 9ea. Sounds like what happened today.Leave a comment:

I sent several notices for back in stock notification, never received anything showing they were in stock.
I have been very patient waiting for the V2 wings. Motion sold out within 5 hours
what did they order 20 sets of wings!!!
I'm a very unhappy customer at this point.

Being the first to market! SuperP 14CH Diversity Receiver has been designed not only for long-range flying, aerial photography but also suitable for the application of fixed-wing, helicopters, RC cars, boats and etc. It has TCXO oscillator, two antennas, dual receiver chains, and Plug-N-Play ports, and adds more featurLeave a comment:

Yeah, gotta be that.
I don't like this 'obscure' way to treat things.
Just state the problems outright:
"If you plug your own power supply without disabling the ESC BEC, you'll fry stuff. Components rated for 5.5V max."
There, two short sentences. How hard can it be?

The warning is on the page for all their jets. I'm positive it was because of people asking for warranty replacement after plugging in an external power source.Leave a comment:

Good luck on the landings!
As always, test the setup first at higher altitude before attempting to come down with it! :D
As for Motion's warning message, I can't say for sure 100% but it totally reads to me like they are oversimplifying stuff like always, explaining recipes without actually telling the complete reasons why.
My guess is the warning is there to prevent people from plugging in their own external power supplies before first removing the red wire from the ESC to disable the ESC BEC. Of course you'll fry things if you have the two power sources competing, short of adding shottcky diodes to both supply lines.
And yeah, FW electronics are sadly fragile, not taking any more than 5.5V. It's one of my biggest recurring gripes with their component quality. Everything should be HV capable from factory, and we'd have a lot less problems.
But I'm fairly confident that running your own BEC at the right voltage and having previously disabled the included ESC one should be perfectly fine. I have been doing it for years on most of my models.
They didn't provide a single reason why this one would be any different from the rest of their jets.
Anyway, don't blame me if you end up burning something, everybody gotta take their own risks! :)Leave a comment:

Thanks, do you have a link to the receiver? I don't see any that are branded Betaflight, just controllers with them.Leave a comment:
