I really like the A-10's I have 4 now, counting this one. I received this one yesterday at 2:30 pm unboxed went over the inst. manual and started working on it. Finished assembly, and did some changes with the wire extension routing. Instead of running the three Y harnesses from the back to the front on top of the battery tray and along side the the battery. I rerouted the Y harnesses underneath the battery tray. This makes battery accessibility much easier. I also had to add a 3" extension to the Elevator connector for easier receiver placement (installed elevator extension to short) The battery strap installed is too short for any of the recommended 4s batteries. I do like the thrust reverse setup already programmed just plug in the thrust reverse connector into channel 7 set it to your desired switch to operate it

Nice! Post a video of your maiden if you can. I am going to ask if management can look into seeing if Freewing/FlightLine can start offering larger battery straps. Mine broke on the FlightLine B-25 maiden...I was simply trying to get it tight and it barely fit the 6S battery and snapped clean off. Good luck with your maiden!

Aros I have the B-25 and the A-6 E Intruder ready also I have photos but I need to find out how to convert HEIC to jpeg I will have to go over how to do that again seems like if you do not use it you loose it LOL!!!!

Looks intriguing but am a little put off by the landing gear. I understand using wire struts to keep the cost down, not that this is cheap for what you get, but why do these manufacturers insist in making the wheels out of granite? At least there could be some shock-absorbency with the wheels. Actually the optional wheel set on the little 64mm 3 channel Panther were very good, so I know Freewing can make them. I would rather have easily replaceable soft wheels that can last 80 - 100 landings, and throw in a replacement set with the model. Since I fly off a paved runway I
would need to grease it every time or risk a bone-jarring bounce. Is there a better landing gear that is compatible or are the wheels at least easily replaceable instead of using those impossible c-clips?
And...what is with the nose gear cover pulling down in flight when it catches the wind the wrong way? Looks ridiculous in the product video. Maybe possibly use a stronger spring?

Finally ready to go, with the suggested 4s 3600 where I have it in the photo balanced at 50mm from the leading Edge. Know for some decent weather and I can go test fly this one, can't wait to try the thrust reverse. I sure like this new feature for the EDF's to help slow them down after landing. The thrust reverse option on the prop jobs is awesome and much more effective in slowing and stopping the plane

Version 2 looks good. Would like to see some slow flight videos. A-10 is not a high speed aircraft. Most videos are full throttle passes. Would like to see slow flight maneuvers demonstrated.

Well The test flight did not go very well. I did the setup from the assembly. video Ailerons and elevator WAY to sensitive Video Aileron throws way more than the book aileron low 8mm High rate 14mm which is much less than in the video, and the low rate aileron is 10mm higher than the book. After take off I immediately had to put ailerons and elevator on my low rates, that were actually higher then the video High rates by 4mm WOW add 10 t0 15 mph gusty wind was not fun luckily I got it down but broke off the main left landing gear WOW not fun at all. Need to order left main wire and strut cover assembly to repair and reset throws to the Correct amount of travel.

I purchased this Cheaper 4cell Twin 64mm A-10 to compare with E-Flite's 6 cell Twin 64mm So far the E-flite beats the Free Wing hands down ( you get what you pay for) The gear. One has wire the other machined aluminum scale gear. One comes with AS3X and Safe set up in the installed receiver. The other PNP no receiver So you need to spend close to 100 dollars for a dood quality receiver . Gyro? the other has none. That is another 30 to 40 dollars more if you want it. Lets talk about the Ordinance one has all removable Ordinance the other has glue in Ordinance except for the Center tank. Which is a problem if you ever have to change out an aileron servo or a flap servo. Have fun trying to get the connector through with out tearing things up. Hinging? One has hinges on the flaps the other uses the foam for the flaps which I call live skin hinges which will eventually tear out unless taped top and bottom. One has the elevator servo's in the tail with positive control compared to the one that uses long small diameter wire from tail to back of canopy hatch due to CG set up. IMHO the E-flite, although more expensive is by far the better EDF. So by the time you add a receiver and a gyro, if you elect to do so the price is almost the same. The free wing ? I have flown once, and I am thinking of giving it away! So take it from there I myself would rather spend the extra Mula But that's me. The choice is yours. I have made mine

After repairs made and throws reset as per manual, not assembly video suggested control throws. I took it out, test flew it. flight went great another RCer should up watch my flight and wanted to know if I would trade it for a DX9 Spektrum transmitter still new in the box. Well that offer only took less then 10 seconds to decide I now have a new DX9 to use for my student Pilots. Was that a good trade or not? I would call it a WIN WIN situation and I am going to help him with the A-10

Purchased the Freewing A-10 Twin 64mm when it first hit the shelfs in Spring, 2024. Here it is in July, 2024 and I have yet to have a successful maiden with this jet. The first attempt, with a Spektrum AR687T receiver, the plane took off and then violently pancaked into the runway. I fixed the front landing gear (new retract), put in a new Spektrum receiver, and the jet ran off the runway without taking off. The third attempt I put in a Spektrum AR8020T (no gryo) and the jet once again took off, flew a few feet, and pancaked into the ground.

It needs new landing gear and some glue work. But do I try again? This plane may be unflyable!

Well, the only thing to do is pre flight checks.. check your controle.

Check and/or try with Safe. Check if the controle work as it needs to so when auto leveling.

Did you add the suggested weight in the nose?

Got the maiden flight in on the A-10 today. Flew with a384 gram batt pushed as far back as it would go. Gave me a c.g. 69m aft of the leading edge. Elevator 10mm above the line. Plane flew great, no other trim needed. Landing was a non event. Quite pleased with how it preformed. Suko on rcg gave me good advice on the set up. It's a keeper.

Does anyone know of a replacement upgraded landing gear, something with a little suspension that will fit this bird??
