Hi everyone, I just received my 80mm F-22 and I noticed that FreeWing (FW) is improving some of the details. I saw that it also includes a separate, more detailed cockpit set that you can paint and use to replace the stock one.
I have a few questions: do I need to remove the pilot, and if so, how? I’d also love to see how yours turned out and find out which parts you replaced—for example, the instrument panel. Thanks a million!"

Ok the canopy isn’t glued on all the way comes off really easy, hobby knife under an edge peel carefully. Mod wise for my tailerons as always, went to a JetFan 8s set up with a 120a ZTW esc along with a new custom paint scheme. My older eyes can have some issues in certain maneuvers with originationOriginally posted by Guillermo View PostHi everyone, I just received my 80mm F-22 and I noticed that FreeWing (FW) is improving some of the details. Hat tip to whoever emphasized the odd setting for neutral for the elevator on this Freewing 80mm F-22. Very easy to miss in the manual.
Now please forgive my loud complaint about this plane… THE FREAKING NOSE GEAR STEERING SERVO WAS BAD out of the box. This is happening way too often lately, especially annoying after spending $545 on a PNP that requires a week of waiting for a replacement part then spending a weekend afternoon tearing out the electronics and nose gear to replace the %#!? thing.
Otherwise a really nice F-22.

I've used these Avian ESCs with the fan in another plane. I removed the fan because it wouldn't fit. So far, I have not experienced any overheating. However, you need to keep check on this to be sure. Most of the new FW jets have their ESC placed in the airstream tunnel that feeds the EDF. I seem to recall that this F-22 is like that. That being the case, I don't think the fan is absolutely necessary so long as the ESC is installed with the cooling fins facing the airflow.

On the 80? Those batteries fit? You’re likely nose heavy.

I found the stock settings to weak on Stabs and to strong on Aileron deflections. The sound from this setup sounds Turbine like.
While I am using the Lemon 10 channel and have setup the Gyro for AER I didn't turn it on.
