Freewing should do a black jet series. These unique aircraft changed the course of history. Cool factor on these planes is off the charts. Imagine rolling into your local airfield with a Freewing twin 90mm SR-71. I can see it now taking off with dual centerburners glowing--sweet! You would have everyone’s attention. LX has made money off their old designs for 10 years, and I heard a new shipment is arriving this summer. They keep selling out. Why? Because people want the black jets.
Think of all the engineering challenges the real planes overcame. Now, the biggest (and only) problem we have is gatoring?
Ok, for all you F-117 fans, since black is out, I found some articles with it in alternate color schemes:
Yep! Or how about an F-84G Thunderjet. Looks just like a T-33 but has an extensive combat history. Huge number of colorful paint schemes, too. Flew for several countries.
I'd jump at a F9F Panther or Mig 15, too.
I'd prefer 80mm, but would still buy 90mm.
No, it doesn't look like a P-80/T-33. The engine's fed from the front, like a Sabre, not the sides. It looks like a Koi with it's mouth open.

Here are two official statements that have been made before regarding Black paint on EPO foam airplanes and why EPS foam is not used as much anymore.
Year after year, the supply chain for EPS foam grows increasingly... complicated. It's a big reason why there aren't many EPS planes in mass production from the major manufacturers these days, especially not in larger EDF sizes. It often ends up being more expensive than EPO, assuming one can even secure a steady supply. Consistency is key in our business, so fragile chains are clear red flags.

For the life of me, I can't understand why people request the T-33 (a trainer) and not the F-80 (single seat fighter)...

I agree totally. The F117 nighthawk is my all time favorite. Had the lx one years ago. It was underpowered, and the retracts were terrible, but it flew great. I just can't believe there's no solution to the dark paint problem.

It's because they use a different type of foam. LX uses EPS where Freewing and Flightline use EPO. What the difference in strength and durability is, I do not know.

Mig15/17seems like would be a very nice compliment to the f86 and f4 The direct rivals would look really nice in the air(on the ground too for that manner). Its a straightforward design. There is a 80mm mig 15/17 out there but i have heard the quality is sub par. Freewing makes really nices products I'm sure their mig 15/17 would be awsome
It has been stated before on these forms that the main reason that Nighthawk and any other airplane in black like the SR-71 and B2 would not ever get made in the foreseeable future is because of the problems with black paint gatoring on foam in the sunlight.
So until they can solve this issue we won't be seeing any models in Black which is unfortunate.
Yes and no. They could kind of make the SR-71, but it'd have to be in the silver with black trim of the A-12 Oxcart.
