Sorry to hear bout your p51. If you get the Flyzone Beaver, I'm here to tell ya your going to love it! I just put the floats on mine and taking off and landing on water just might be the definition of FUN!!
I am selling my Snoot's Sniper, I would like to get $150.00 + Shipping, I will consider a reasonable offer. I have taken the motor and ESC out of her for another project. the retracts are in perfect condition all other electronics are in the plane and work great. As most of you know she has been crashed and repaired, my last flight out I scuffed the wing tips. I am sending it with all the spares I have for her in the original boxes I got her in. I love the plane but I need the money to patent my braces.
That's to bad Lauren my last bad crash broke the wing 2 places fuse into at front of cockpit motor esc and battery were lying about 30 feet away. It was my first Flyzone fw 190 the camo works to good for after sundown flights. I did a series of low level rolls when I pulled it up oops it was inverted 20 feet up I plowed it into the ground at about 50mph. Lesson learned!
Thanks FF! I hate destroying a plane... Makes you feel empty. :-(
Sean, I think the ESC is fine but I may have bent the motor. Let me check and get back to you ok? It didn't feel right this evening when I spun it by hand but I'm not sure what exactly is bent.
There is a break down on the improvements on the sales page, I have the version 8 and it would seem that the biggest thing was the inner gear doors retract when the gear is down. In a lot of the videos, you'll see them taxiing around with them down, but they'd get ripped off in the grass I hear.

Good morning from the Pacific NW<
I have the V7 Mustang. When it came time to replace my damaged worn out retracts, The ones that came were the V8's. Over all the retracts on the V8 are much better built, and G56 is spot on about the inner doors. During take offs and landings the inner doors are closed so they dont get torn off in taller grass. The sequencer is more delayed as well for a more authentic retract action, and also so the gear doors dont close before the retracts are up all the way. When I bought the upgraded retract I also had to buy the sequencer that matched the gear for the V8 . The timing is different on the V8 retracts which requires the matching sequencer. There are other suttle differences in construction for a higher quality product. But the landing gear and sequencer action in the main upgraded difference.
Ah so there you go!
You might want to look into getting the replacement retract aluminum shells. The plastic ones tend to crack fairly easily when you're just learning to fly these things

Well your spot again G56, I agree with you 100%, I have read about people who have cracked them. Even though I have yet to crack one,, sometimes even now I play basketball with my P51 on a landing,(not on purpose) they are holding up very well! There was one windy day inputecular I must have dribbled my P51 half way down the runway before it stopped bouncing, I thought for sure that I cracked a housing and maybe blew the retract through the wing. To my surprise it taxied back and all was good. I really think that the ONE single most thing that helped, DAVE BROWN SHOCK ABSORBING TIRES! That mixed with the shock absorbing struts, BOUYA. :D
Hey, thats a good thought, I have DB's on the Pandoras and the Waco. What size are you using?
Grossman56
Stock size 3", 3 1/4 " might fit though. there is a little room. I have DB's on all my aircraft. I'm also finding that DB tires seem to be a little smaller than advertised. When I use a tape measure on the stock FMS tires they measure right on 3" . The DB tire is just under that. So I bet a 3 1/4" tire would work, but never tried. Food for thought G56.
I should check into that, it sounds like a good idea. I'll either check it out next time I'm in Billings or when I have a shopping list for Motion.
I did the zip tie prop mod on my Mustangs as well, I'm wondering how much I can push the ESC's though, any thoughts?

I did the zip tie mod as well, and it pushed my V7 that only came with a 65 amp ESC to its limit according to the meters. With out the zip tie mod, my meters showed a 58 -60 amp draw. The V8's come with a 70 amp ESC, and I believe the late model V7's, that are called V7.5 also came with a 70 amper with the zip tie mod in mind. So what I did was I bought a 80 amp ESC from motion so I would have amp room to spare and it was cheaper than the FMS 70 amper. Went to a single blade 14x14, meters stilll only around a 65 amp draw, but I generated more speed than the zip tie mod because of the less drag factor. Then eventually went to the Zero motor with the same set up and got even more speed and stayed around a 65 amp draw. So if you have the 70 amp ESC or better your good to go. Hope this helps. :D P.S Had to cut my flight time with the Zero motor to 5 mins to stay with the voltage safe zone
interesting. Had mine up today, she's a V8 and all was stock except for the zip ties. Depending on how thick a zip tie you're using. Goes pretty darned good. I agree with the esc as well, that's a winter project for both Mustangs as I upgraded the motor in BBD with a 580 as well as the zip ties. Was flying her yesterday in 12 mph of wind. Got her up high and rolled her over and split s'ed with the wind right across the field, hey, who needs a jet!!!
Its so nice having a week off to do nothing but fly.
I did notice today that the vertical stab on Shangrila was warped, tried hand bending it back, it worked to some degree, but I was curious as to whether there is a carbon fiber rod in the tail?
I'm thinking of applying some heat to straighten it out, any thoughts on this?
