    Yep, lost it last year to a frontal explosion. Fortunately got replacement fuse and wings at nice discount when MRC was closing out the FMS line last year.
    Now to get the new hub, get through the pandemic and then no worries about putting her back up in 2021.

    There's probably other factors with that rimfire motor that contributes to such high amp draw, kv being only one of them. Although it's not a proportional relationship due to those other possible factors, going to 50% throttle is like the motor putting out 225kv and I just can't see it drawing such amps. The stock V1/V2 prop is pretty tame (in my view) or FMS would not have gone to a much bigger, pitchier prop with the same motor. There may be something else going on with that Rimfire motor. The proof in the pudding would be how the plane flies at 50% throttle. My fear would be that it just won't pull and the plane could be very sluggish in the air and you could have a mishap from not having more propulsion when you need it the most. Rather than limiting the throttle to 50%, you should set the beeper at 50% and don'tgo beyond that but still have the rest available for that first trial run just in case you need it. If it turns out you've got enough rpm at 50% throttle, perhaps it's OK but I just can't see it. It's like limiting the stock 300kv motor to 75% and we've seen how RC Informer's video showed how seemingly underpowered the V3 was at full power and that was with the new bigger prop. With the old prop on the V3 at 50%, it might be disastrous. I'd be very careful on that first flight.

    So just did a quick test. I set the top value of the throttle to 50 in the travel menu on my radio. Hooked up the amp/watt meter again. Using the RimFire 1.20, 6S battery & the 17x10 4 blade V2 prop. Now at full throttle it's pulling 118amps / 2478watts.

    Any input or thoughts about doing this type of throttle limiting would be great. It seems have gotten my numbers back into the acceptable range for the electronics anyways.

    Quick thought after making the last post....... Does anyone have thoughts about just limiting the throttle in the radio? So full throttle stick is only like lets say 70% power or something along those lines?

    So tested the RimFire 1.20 450kv motor on 6S using the V2 17x10 4 blade prop. It's way much prop for that KV at 6s voltage. Full throttle static on the ground it's max power was 190amps / 4250watts. Way to much for that motor and the 100amp ESC.

    I tested the flightline 3 blade prop as well and at Full Throttle static on the ground saw max of 172amps / 3400watts.

    I really want to find a nice fast setup using a 3-4 blade prop to keep the scale look. If anyone has thoughts let me know. I think the RimFire 1.20 is just to much motor for a big swinging prop on 6S.

    I can confirm that the V2 17x10 blades will work/fit with the V3 prop hub no problem. I setup the V2 blades on a V3 prop hub last night (no problems). I'm going to try this prop setup with a RimFire 1.20 450kv motor on 6S. Need to check amp draw / output watts with this setup first, but that's on the agenda for today hopefully.

    You will, I trust, run that combo up on a wattmeter first - it’s likely you will find amp draw pretty startling. Getting all the hub reinforcement you can would be prudent.

    Won't be till spring when all the snow/ice disappear. It shouldn't look much different than the video from RC Informer when he flew the V3 on 8S and the new, revised prop. My variation would be with the 360 motor and the stock V2 prop on 8s/120HV ESC. I'm not sure I'm going to risk it with the newer V3 prop. That equates to an extra 1500rpm with a fully charged battery.

    That would be great. Thanks. I bought a couple of sets of spare blades for my V2 when I thought they were going to discontinue that series and terminate production of parts. So far the old prop assembly has held up very well with the 360 motor. I'm just not confident that they'll hold up on 8S without the metal plate.

    Those blades should be this week. I'll let you know of they fit early next week.
