If you haven't noticed, Iron Ass the Freewing P51D is being clearance off at ridiculously low prices! $209 for no sound system and $229 with sound system.
Now, I don't know what this might mean, whether there will be a change to Flightline? Looks like Old Crow is sticking around so maybe not. Anyway, if you're looking for a great Mustang, now's the time to check these out I'm trying to figure out how to sneak one in the house!!

I hope not being discontinued. I've been wanting one. Have you been satisfied with yours gman. I started to get one a couple of weeks ago but instead I ordered the p40 instead. Hope I didn't make a mistake. Just been so worried about all the negative reviews I've read. I fly scale and very seldom have hard or bad landing. You think the plane will hold up. If so I'll order one tonight. I know this is one of your favorite planes. Let me know what you think.

I love this plane, but I think I'd go for the non sound system version. Lon has one too that he's flown a heck of a lot and there are a few others who would back this plane as well. Once you see it, you'll love it, it looks very real. Flies very well too, I think with the sound system, she's a little under powered but she's a tough bird. At $209 you're definitely not going wrong with this one, as I said, I'd love to pick up another if it didn't mean divorce!! LOL

The Old Crow is staying, we don't have any intention of discontinuing the Freewing 1400mm P-51D. It's just too darn popular. But, two silver P-51Ds is somewhat redundant, and the Iron Ass has had a nice ~three year run. Time for a change.

Not so sure about "all the negative reviews" you are worried about. Of the few not so favorable ones I've read, was inclined to believe that they were comments coming from pilots that were flying an airframe requiring more skill set than they possessed. This is a rock solid airframe but I would forego the sound system version due to added weight versus benefits. It definitely is a good scale flying airframe. The oleos/struts are much better than the FMS stang and the main gear wheel is 85mm versus 75mm on the FMS. If I didn't already have one and wasn't also saving my gig dollars for the P-38 second round, I'd be all over that $209 like a vulture on a gut pile. What more can I say than just do it!

Yes, and you would have the best of both worlds, a P 40 and a P51D.
Dang, I want to pick one of these up, two is better, but so is marriage!!

As Gman mentioned, I have hundreds of flights on my Iron Ass over the past couple years. It is my favorite for sure. It is not "under powered" by no means. But some of us have found that at least a prop mod is a good thing to get a little more performance out of her. I'm so close to pulling the trigger on it right now...$209!!!!! I'd go on about it's great features....If your looking for a P-51 in the 1400 range. You won't regret it. I believe most all spare parts of the Old Crow will work with it. That would be my only question. Does the Old Crow wings work on the Iron Ass????

Yes they do. The only difference between the two base aircraft is the motor, spinner, prop, ESC, and paint. But all the foam parts are interchangeable.

At $209 and $229 I don't expect either to last very long.

Snagged mine this morning! I couldn't pass it up. Had the version with sound...Great P-51 with nice scale lines and detail...Excited to get the version with less weight. Going fast!

Yes this plane had a great run and some times it's hard to do but its time has come to go with the new. I will say having to have the honors of talking to col."bud" Anderson was a true delight and to have some inpact on the old crow was a joy to do. To have a living Ace still alive and to have his own feed back in the colors was amazing. So saying that it's a great time to take the Iron Ass down to allow people to fly a plane that a true ace that is still alive how awesome is that. So live long and well iron ass but lets move over to the old crow. Thanks Col. Anderson for allowing us the honor to talk to us and help us in the creation of your color scheme.

it sucks i been watching this p-51 over 6 mo. i got it on feb 24 looked yesterday seen they were on sale heck i was gonna get 2 other planes,talked to motion they told me i was out of luck i bought planes since oct 2015 and i don,t think i will be getting nothing else here.wife wants me to send back have not opened it yet just looked at it and i done found problems with it all control horns are on backwards no biggie to fix if i keep it.motion could gave me some credit on account seeing i just got plane, that's just not right. if they did i would get the other plane i been wanting ol,well there are other places that sell same plane.lost more than me as customer i know 3 other people that are not very happy.

meant to say i got 3 planes since dec 15 just got p-40 then 2 weeks later got p-51 then.i have gotten since oct 7 planes from motion.
