The P61 thread over on RCG kinda blew up in the past two days... I'm disappointed that not so much has been posted here. Apparently the owner of Dynam posted a big steamer. I saw where Tom wrote that he is still planning on bringing at least one batch of P61s in. So... why would anyone buy the P61 from Bitgo? Its probably not the improved version. (Apparently Bitgo isn't stocking any spare parts, which is stupid).
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's thinking that Fliteline should just develop their own version and let Dynam pound salt. I think a large P61 with Tigercat-size motors would be awesome. If I knew that Fliteline was developing that then I would never buy the Dynam version... (hint)

Here is an idea. Buy all the Dynam stuff from Motion, but send all the warranty claims to Bitgo. Flood them with their inferior products. I have a drawer full.Originally posted by CFIT rob View PostI too am going to wait and i really want this airplane. The" other guys" dont even have parts listed. How are they going to handle warranty if they dont have parts. Who doesnt order spare props? You know the odds of needing dynam warranty are pretty good. (My b26 had a retract failure, motion had one on the way 24hrs after my email.) Strange....im more loyal to motion than i was to my ex-wife.

As the saying goes what comes around goes around. Karma is a #$&^* just might take awhile. We're with you on this one Aros. :Angry:Originally posted by Aros.MotionRC View PostI just found out about this recently and needless to say I am very disappointed.

Could be bad juju for Dynam. Most of the electric guys at my field are turning more and more to Motion and if they hear of this they may not buy any more Dynams. I've got three of them and the P-61 - from Motion - will probably be my last.

Yeah, Dynam's behavior is very disappointing. I'll only be buying one from Motion RC. And, I have a feeling that will be it for Dynam products on Motion RC.

As I have stated before I will wait for Motion to stock the P-61. Some where in the business world morals are not high on the priority list. Hats off to the whole team at Motion for standing up for the high standards they practice. :Cool:Originally posted by borntoolate View PostThis dirty business stuff doesn't sit well with me. Seems like Dynam was busy during the holiday. They opened a new US distributor called biggohobby. And they have the "V2" P-61 in stock. Seems to be a slap in the face to Motion RC.Tom talks about it on the RCGroups thread.

Me too, thank you for the update Tom. That one is certainly joining my hangar!

Thank you so much for the update Tom. I like what i've seen already in terms of outline and scale and will be on the preorder button like a duck on a junebug. I've been holding off on a purchase(umx f27 fpv) thinking the widow was close. Now the "wife's shoe/clothes/make up to my airplanes ratio" has time to swing in my favor...
Would love a 3dpup kit for the widow at release...guns,antenna,cockpit,radar/gunner station.

Thanks for the update Tom. Your team's attention to getting things right is really appreciated by us. I am very glad to hear that it is coming, I was worried for a while that it might have been killed. I think Dynam & Motion will have a winner with this one, its going to be more popular than the B26 I'm sure.

The plane has not completed the final design and testing phase yet. When we work with any manufacturer in the design phase, Dynam in this case, we are designing on a computer. When we are all satisfied the plane looks good on the computer, the molds are manufactured based on the CAD files. The way the foam parts fit together and the way a plane flies is rarely perfect the first time a plane comes out of the mold from any manufacturer. You normally never see these first versions of any plane. We test and refine. This often requires changes to the molds and more testing and refining. The Dynam foam molds have been through 2 rounds of changes since the original batch of P-61 were delivered to Europe. Again, normally, the plane would not have seen the light of day yet at this point. My team went to China multiple times to sit down with the Dynam engineers on their computers in an effort to refine the P-61. Alpha recently test flew the P-61 after the second round of mold changes and found 8 items which need attention. Fortunately none of those items require mold changes. Dynam will fix those issues when they are back from their holiday and we will do more testing. Hopefully this is the final test before our production run starts. At this point the plane has been through 2 major mold revisions and 1 minor revision so is it technically a V3.5 ? This is completely normal. By the time we start selling any new Freewing or Flightline plane, they have been through these same rounds of revisions. What you guys know as a V1 is technically a V2, V3, or even a V4. I estimate 3-4 months before we see this plane in our warehouse. It will not be quite as scale as a FlightLine RC warbird because we are trying to stick to a price point with Dynam. Target price is about $259 but please don't quote me on that just yet. The target price sacrifices some scale details that most people will not notice and a few you will. Overall, we want it to be a fantastic flying model with reliable electronics that looks the part.Originally posted by CarlosB View PostAnybody heard any news regarding a possible release date for this bird?

Dynam actually has some of the most reliable electronics on the market at this point. We spent a ton of time with Dynam on this. Their servo reliability is fantastic and the new motors and ESC are some of the best around. The motors are using Japanese bearings and top of the line magnets. The ESC are some of the "smoothest" operating on the market and the servos, while plastic gear, have one of the lowest failure rates I've seen. Alpha sat down with their engineers and redesigned the inside of the retracts while retaining the outer casing. The retracts are much better though they still have issues in cold. Note, their is a delay after you power the plane. Wait a good 15 seconds before operating the retracts. This gives them time to initialize. Rotating retracts have not been redesigned yet. We're constantly working with Dynam on QC issues like warped foam, missing parts, and incorrect parts. Honestly, it has been a battle but they are getting there. The new motors, ESC, and servos have made the plane electronics super high quality but it has had an impact on price. Dynam raised our prices 2.5 months ago so we unfortunately will have to pass that on. It is for good reason though. The extra quality of the electronics justifies the $5 and $10 price increases.Originally posted by fhhuber View PostI wish Dynam would just offer the foam "kit" unpainted, no electronics. Nothing really wrong with their foam and structural reinforcements. The issues are mainly electronics and assembly at the factory. (and I would rather to not have to strip their paint to do the color schemes I want)

Oh wow! That reminds me of (many years ago) exporting (not China). Yes, the entire nation (plural) could shut down to mourn, or celebrate, the results of a soccer match, a birthday or any other holiday. Very frustrating! You have my sympathy.
