Converted a HL M4A3 Sherman to an M36BI. It uses the Mato M36 turret, 3D printed travel lock relocation, IR receiver base, and Jerry cans. It used a HL 6.1s (for servo recoil and elevation).
Many years ago, I bought a cast resin M36 turret to do the same thing. Except it was for my Gen 1 Tamiya M4. I got new stripped Tamiya upper to create an M26B1. I was going to swap out the upper's between the M51 modified upper with the M36 upper. That's a project I hope gets done one of these days. None of us are getting any younger, and time has a way of passing all too quickly!!!
OMG, Rubicon!!! How many RC tanks do you have??? My wife gets pissed off with each RC tank I purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet, she has over 100 pairs of shoes, and many matching purses/pocket books!!!!!
A good number. The majority are kept at a storage facility, I have been building tanks and other RC since the mid 1970s so the numbers add up over time. I only keep my favorites and most ones used at home.

Rubicon99, forgive me for saying this, but I thought you were younger. In the mid 70's I was a freshman in high school!!! I didn't get into RC boats & tanks when I was young.

Thankfully I look nowhere near my age, good genes and healthy active lifestyle have gone a long way.
They range from poor to fair in most aspects, but this gives them just enough to look decent to 95% of their target market which is not modelers, but younger “RTR” RC users. They are nowhere near Tamiya levels in accuracy, but then even Tamiya is not overly accurate on some of their 1/16 tanks.
Being fair in accuracy makes the HL tanks relatively easy to bring up to “good” levels with the right aftermarket parts, paint and a bit of “hobby’n skill”.
That's a great paint scheme; it looks like a captured Sherman put to German use. The Germans loved the Sherman's and anything else they captured from us.
I think I am going to name this tank “Kitty Kill” ! After all it was intended to kill Tigers and Panthers.
Rubicon99, I've always liked the Tamiya M26, but the price has always scared me away!!!!!!! Finally, I picked up a HL M26. Yes, it's a far cry from the Tamiya. I haven't done anything with it yet, but sooner or later I will.
Yeah I haven't seen any other Dutchies here in the meantime. It's a shame there are so few tankers in my region. I haven't had the chance yet to try out the IR system
Don't feel so bad, I'm from Rhode Island, USA, and I can say the same thing. That's why most of my RC tanks are airsoft, and I'm modifying a new M24 and removing anything to do with IR Battle.

The HL M26 is good tank. The biggest difference between the Tamiya and HL is the gearboxes. Tamiya as lower geared and smoother running. Otherwise about equal tanks.

Its a quick and dirty Firefly I did in a Matilda scheme the Brits used in either Malta or Crete, I forget which now.

Thank you very much for the heads up on the HL M26
. I really appreciate it!
Chef, What paint brand /formula did you use for the desert yellow?
The paint is Tamiya XF. All 3 colors are custom mixed. The Grey is 50% XF 55, 45% XF 19, 5% XF 2.
All were thinned 70% Lacquer Thinner to 30% paint mix and painted at 10 PSI with a .5 needle.
This is what it looked like after initial painting-
