Gave my old T72 a makeover. Representing the final camouflage on East German vehicles in the last 18month before unification. Only about 5% of the fleet were painted in these colours. The first incarnation looked very similar to the NATO 3 colour pattern. However the the East Germans wanted a camouflage pattern that was able to be used all year. Fitted bearings to the plastic wheels, and fitted rubber tyres after sanding off the plastic ones. Installed a HL TK6.1 which I had in stock, which had been removed from my Challenger. Working head and tail lights. Hand operated dozer blaThe rear lights were from Christmas decorations. Cupola was revised, cannon smoke and flash installed, servo recoil and elevation. For a big tank there is not a lot of interior space.

Waiting for the assault...
A Heng Long T-34 with a 3DP Model 1941 turret, square side gas tanks and a gun mounted spotlight. That last is a tribute to the "Tanks for Stalin" movie. The stock single side mounted headlight is replaced with twin lights in front. This was built as a battler, as are all my tanks. Liberties were taken regarding authencity; some stuff added, some stuff left out
The printed parts were done by JVM3DConcepts.The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

This one has servo operated elevation but no recoil. It could be done but would take more work than I was willing to devote. An IR receiver base is installed in the top hatch. I plug the IR receiver into it when I want to battle. The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

If it's been designed from the start to have a recoil/elevation, it's not that bad. It's the retrofitting a small recoil/elevation in the Trumpeter kit turrets that sucks.Originally posted by Panzermechaniker View PostLove the early T-34s. Would prefer one to my 85 but I’ve always been told the turret is so cramped I’d have to get someone who knows what they are doing to get the recoil, elevation and apple base in one

Besides the tank; those Soviet Tank Riders look so good.
Where did you acquire them?

I think they are looking for the submarines out of Faslane.
