  • Tamiya Leopard 1 early Belgian BE1 after first refit.
It took a used 1970s clutch drive chassis and a NIB 1980s motorized kit and a Perfect Scale brand Round turret kit some ED parts I had JVM make along with insane amount of work to build this model over a year and a a half. Still need to build the spotlight.

        • Always preferred the look of the Leopard 1 to it's more modern brothers. That colour really makes it's silhouette stand out

                • Oh man Im sorry dude, those Hooben Fury tanks are a piece of junk.
Rubicon got one and tested it out and determined the chassis and suspension was junk so I said I would take it on and I put an ibu into it and used it in battles twice. The chassis broke down fatally in the second battle.
The top half is good to move over to a tamiya chassis but the bottom half is just trash.
Though, now, maybe the top half could be moved over to a henglong with my hvss kit installed, I dont know if the top will line up well on a HL or not.
Im just sorry to see anyone spend money on a hooben fury, thats all, you made it look really nice, but the first time something gets stuck in the track it will all break apart.
                  Drive it carefully.

                  • It was part of a 11-tank deal that I purchased from a buddy. It came out to be at $20 tag. It is just for indoor driving around the living room only. No battle. It has the hiccup sound just as one member stated awhile back, heheh!

                        • I've hated the M60 tank since I was a kid and it was the only tank I could find to play with plastic army men.

You guys have actually made it look cool to me. 👍

That is really good to know David. I would hate to know anyone spent a few hundred dollars on one. It can drive in nice soft dirt or hard dirt but dont get anything into the tracks.

Yes! The accessories at the rear and the Brad Pitt figure cost more than the tank, LOL!

Looking good but would look even better with one of your excellent weathering jobs...just saying.

                                  • Dull coat! Nato cammo just dont look right if its shiny. Need to flatten that out dead flat.
Also, I would reccomend cutting and filing off the tow lugs from the mounts They jut get in the way really badly.

                                      • It used to be testors model master dull coat, that what everyone still refers to it as but Testors has a flat clear spray and so does Tamiya. Tamiya seems to have a slight hint of white in it if you get it too thick. But they take the shiny color and make it flat or matte or lusterless basically.

I have been using Future Floor Coat with 30% Tamiya Flat Base sprayed with an airbrush. I understand that Future Floor Coat has been off the market for many years. The Pledge Floor Coat can work the same. (I still have 3/4 of a Future Floor Coat bottle.)
