    Built a IR Target

I Finished up my IR Target Project. This one is just has flashing LED's when it's hit, but there is no reason you couldn't add a smoke system or a motor to raise a flag. I built the circuit board, used a hang long apple with a sun shield I 3D printed. Power is 3 AA battery's. Put it on the ground or in the back of a RC truck and have some target practice. :-)

Sounds like a cool unit. Unfortunately none of the image links work. The google video link works but won't play on my machine for some reason. Probably don't have a modern enough OS...

Are you considering making them for sale for those of us electronically challenged?

Nope just a part of my hobby. Here is a link to one that some one is selling. They just showed up in the last month or so. https://www.etsy.com/.../ir-pillbox-target-38khz-signal... A member of our local club bought one. It works as well.

                Thanks for the link.
Think I'll order one of those. Should work great for gunnery practice at home.

Thanks for posting. I have made air cannons that make fake explosions tied to my transmitter using a standard receiver, but no accuracy was required. This might just be the ticket for the trigger.. any parts list you can share?

All the parts are listed on the diagram above. The IR Receiver unit is the HL 6.0 apple and costs about $3. The IC chip is a IC 555 timer chip. LEDs are 5mm 2 - 2.2 volt LED's Power is 3 AA battery's in a holder.

Yes, the HL 7.0 system is also Tamiya compliant so they should all play well with each other.

Both Q1 and Q2 are general PNP transistors such as 2N3906,2N2907, BC558
