I know it's not a tank or even 1/16 scale but it's still RC military and pretty damn cool and I thought I'd pass it along. I bought one when they were $250 and bought another one because of the price.

I am very interested in the HL Merkava too. Is it a huge improvement over the earlier HL models? How does it justify the significantly higher price? How does it compare to the TongDe M60?

Not yet, but it is starting to hit US distributers. Looks like they have also started making a full metal lower hull for it, but it is over $700 for just the lower at this point.

It is a substantial improvement over prior HL modern tank designs in suspension, details and turret operations.

It is more expensive because it has more in details and suspension workings.

The HL Merk is a substantial better RC tank "out of the box" then the TD M60. The M60 needs a bit of tweaking and depending on version (metal or plastic) this can add to the cost. Also the HL 7.0 is superior in overall functionality to the TD control system.
