  • Armor Group South Central Florida RC Tank Club

Hello, just wanted to introduce Armor Group South to this forum. I started this club about 4 years ago here in Central Fl (northern) and am in the process of re-booting the club and getting things going again. Anyone in the central FL area, South GA. area or just planning to visit please feel free to reach out to me on here via post or PM. We also have a new FB group. I would like to plan a club get together / meet and greet when the weather cools off. Here are a few pics from one of our first meetup (before covid) in Daytona Beach at the RC track.

Been working on some club "loner" tanks. Basically, Henglong "pro" series tanks that I'm giving a repaint, marking, etc. These will be used for loaners, for people that want to try out a RC tank, guests that come over, etc. I'm doing the M4A3 Sherman shown here (I airbrushed the markings on this one using vinyl stencils), a M26 Pershing and a M41 Walker Bulldog.

wrapping up "loaner" tank #3, M41 Walker Bulldog. I did a respray with Tamiya XF-74 to get it closer to a Vietnam era OD Green. I topped it of with some Peddinghaus decals and Ammo Ultra Matte varnish.

What part of Florida are you in? I'm on the East Coast, Northern Central Florida, Flagler County. Any future meat ups will probably be here at my property, the track in Daytona has gone through closures and it seems different people running it since we did our meetup there. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or anything like that.

Nice! We have a member in Orlando, been trying to reach him, he has been quiet for awhile. He's been up here a few times, wouldn't mind trying to get something put together for when it cools off a bit. The rain and humidity have been brutal this week....putting a serous damper on things.

                                  Haven't added the T34-85....

Did a full repaint in a more appropriate green, numbers are also painted on using vinyl stencils.

Thank You MrChef. I think I need to start spending more time over here....FB is becoming more toxic by the day unfortunately.

A couple of new additions to Armor Group South. WPL B36-3 Transporter (Ural 4320) and a E1 (GAZ-71) tracked vehicle.
I've upgraded the control board in the little E1 using the Tongde MFU, speaker and battery that I took out of my M60A3, it runs so much better now! Just waiting on the metal track kit for it.
The Ural truck is all stock for now. Both models have been detail painted with Tamiya acrylics weathered and clear coated.
