I have been running the plastic tracks I purchased from Rich J. for a while now, and they really do perform well. They are very durable, don't put strain on the drive train, and look more realistic. I highly recommend that anyone buying this tank get the metal gearbox and tracks, then swap out the tracks for the plastic ones.

The only difference between the standard "Pro" and the "Plus" are painted wheels, painted tracks and a crappy BB recoil barrel that fires "out of time" with the cannon sound and often recoils in the wrong direction. The paint on the tracks will wear off with outdoor use rather quickly. So IMO for a $130 more it a not worth it.Originally posted by samuellindsey View PostWhat about the latest pro plus models that have come out any thoughts
Now IF TongDe had instead installed servo barrel recoil, cannon flash and barrel smoke along with painted wheels in the Plus, then that would have made $130 more sense. Or better yet installed their "dual current" drive system at which point I could see the price difference as being worth it.

TongDe should offer steel gear boxes standard, then make the metal wheels and tracks a level 1 upgrade, like Heng Long, then the additional cannon flash etc. as premium package.Originally posted by Rubicon99 View Post

I don't understand why they even bother with the plastic gear box. Steel gears + plastic wheels and tracks would be an attractive option for the thrifty folks. As far as painting wheels and such, well, I think that most tankers like to paint their models.

The standard "Pro" is available now at Motion and the price is the best you will find anywhere given the free shipping and in most cases no state sales tax if you don't use PayPal.Originally posted by samuellindsey View PostYeah you are definitely right on with the price point rubicon99 I was initially thinking to buy one but 130 for paint which I can do myself sticks in my side guess I’ll wait for the pro version

It's a nice running tank that with a little paint and a few upgrades to the detailing (correct cannon, spotlight, gas cans and some crew kit) can be turned into quite a nice lookout tank too.Originally posted by samuellindsey View PostHot damm !!!! just ordered a M-60 pro now if I can get it put away before the wife see it lol!!
if you have time take a look at my Instagram @ Fsttanks and you will see a good number of TongDe M60 painted, detailed and running around. I also have a 6 minute long YouTube video of my " Pro" level M60 running around the San Diego RC tank field. My YouTube is Fsttanks1.

Hi Folks,
I made a little adjustment to my M60 you might be interested in doing. I like being able to use my balance charger on my tank batteries, and be able to disconnect the battery when not in use. I thought about using magnets to hold the top shell on, but the plastic is too warped to work. So, when I swapped out the Tongde board for a 7.0 Heng Long, I disconnected the balance charge port cable from the aft switch board and routed it to the front of the tank. The Heng Long board uses bullet connectors, so I replaced them with an XT60 on a 6 inch lead. I repositioned the battery using a piece of foam so that it is turned 90 degrees. Now, I can open the drivers hatch and pull out the battery connections. I can charge the battery with a better charger, and unplug it when not in use. So far, works great!

FYI- Something to fool around with.
I loaded the barrel end with a little Gold Bond powder out of curiosity. POOF! it made a nice blast cloud when fired. I found that a little plastic squeeze bottle of powder can quickly load the barrel. It doesn't take much to make a subtle blast cloud!
