The biggest problem stock "metal arm" Leopards have are the hull suspension down travel stops that are molded into the "plastic" hull. These are very weak and with even a moderate amount of outdoor use are damaged and or ripped off my the metal suspension arms. Once this happens all sorts if suspension issues start happening. None of them good.

I tend not to recommend Leopards for this reason. They are great runners at first, but problems seem to alway come up and end the fun.
The 2021 HL Metal Pro version Leopard 2A6 came with the TK6.0S radio. I took your advice to couple the Leo with the Tamiya track and replace the gearbox with a Heng Xin gearbox. It was a good running tank for 3 years until my upgrade bug hit me.

    1. The upgrade to TK7.1 is straight forward and simple.
    2. The Can Shou servo recoil system is more a challenge. The elevation servo is moved to the opposite side of HL's. There is no picture or instruction on how to locate the elevation servo. It took me a few tries before I found the right position.

Then I hit several setbacks with the metal road wheel upgrade and am still working on it.
Torro makes a set of metal road wheels for the Heng Long German Leopard 2A6, 3889. This set includes the metal road wheels with bearings and rubber tires, a full replacement set of metal suspension arms to connect the Torro wheels to the Heng Long Chassis. It is available from Taigentanks.com at about the same price as the HL

I ended up buying a new tool with a unique jaw to grip on the pin head for the removal of the press fit pins. It is not too bad at ~$20.

The pins are 20mm and 32mm long, the OD is just a hair bigger than the major diameter of a M3 screw. I decided to reuse the pins for the metal return rollers now that I have the removal tool. Do not expect to make roller return upgrade in the near future.

Please, return to my other thread for the trial and tribulation of my Heng Long Leopard road wheel upgrade.
