Yep, So She's finally done. Here is my Torro Late Tiger I TK 7.0 Swap running Asiatam barrel recoil and elevation with barrel flash and smoke.

She was an open box that I got from Motion RC last summer. A Phillips head screwdriver, some patience, some help from Barmonkey and some time fixed the open box issue-

Ok so figures I'm not so good at. These Torro Panzer crew will fit the bill. Just did a wash and pigment dust to tone them down. I like the way the first fig fits in the copula better. The commander is a wiggle since his arm is awkwardly extended. But they'll do.

Your excellent work on the Torro Tiger 1 reminds me of my poor 20 years old Heng Long Tiger that was left in pieces in a box. I have all the parts, just never got to finish it. It was long before 1/16 scale tank upgrade parts are readily available. I imported the Zimmerit coating from UK. In the early 2000's, the only place to get high quality metal track is Kenny's in Hong Kong which costed a small fortune. I ended up ordering it from Tamboy in Germany which kept breaking up in operation. It was all history.

Where did you get the tracks use to decorate the front hull and the armor plate under the turret? Is that spare rubber tracks pieces?

They're spare sections of track. I do Tiger I's so I have lots of Tiger track in parts boxes.

For spare track section on the chassis, it is important to use realistic looking pieces. Avoid using spare track with exposed connecting pins. Coming from a plastic modeling background, I am sensitive to appearance.

You can see what Keilau is talking about an "open" pin design on the earlier rendition I mocked up. Notice that you can see the track pins run on the inside back of the Heng Long Tracks=



For Tiger Tanks its also important to have an attachment point for the tracks to hang from pr be attached to. There were 3 main ways that these "extra" improvised tracks were mounted in the field. I created hooks as I've seen on real Tigers,they also used wire to strap them on as well as posts to slot them in between.

The worst thing you could do is just glue them on with no noticeable attachment point. They didn't just hang in the air. They'd look rather silly.


In the end to find the best track that fit and looked the part I used the Nylon Taigen tracks. And they should be hung from their connecting pins.
