I would highly suggest you convert it to dual henglong transmissions.
I can give you instructions on how to do it.
but if you want to stick with the original drive, I have lots of spare parts if you need.

I actually drove it yesterday. It wasn't too bad. Little hard to get used to on the sticks I guess. A friend of mine had one of these back when we were kids. That's how I ended up with that catalog. I had a Sand Scorcher, Ferrari 312 T3, Lamborghini Countach LP500s, and a King Tiger. He had the Leopard, the Celica and a Rough Rider. I guess we were spoiled kids but I worked for mine, and his parents bought his.

Do you know can you use the Perfect Scale Models turret with the parts from Emma for rotation, recoil, gun elevation and depression? Also I see none of your parts on your website. Do I just need to send an email and ask for them specifically?

Also the guy with the road wheels replied and wants to know how many I want. They're out of stock but he will make them.

I'm just going to consider this the Tamiya Leopard 1A4 resource/rescue thread. If you have something to post that's useful to anybody trying to repair one of these, this could be the place.

I just asked for a full set because the other Leopard that I acquired recently, yep, another one followed me home has most of the wheels cracked. Or falling apart. And the models new, has never been run, was assembled and just sat in the garage in the California summer heat.

Old Tamiya Leoaprd 1s tend to do that… I have several kits in box and 4 or 5 more original used clutch steer tanks for some reason.
I really have put the Leoaprd parts on my website due to such low marketability. I posted them on the Facebook RC leoaprd 1 group we have. That’s about it.
I make a few things , soars shocks is the big one, spare lower shock bushings, the loader hatch hinge, NATO tool boxes for the sides. That’s about it right now.
Oh and a profile L7 gun barrel without heat shield.

the Derr Emma Laden rotation system and gun elevation and recoil unit is only for the old clutch drive A4 turret. It will not fit in the Perfect scale turret.
I installed one of my universal recoil units in the perfect scale turret but I will warn you, that turret is made to be static. It takes alot of work to make it RC.
I just passed a photo on my phone of the inside of the turret the other day as I was clearing space. I will see if I still have it on there or on my pc.

About the same price for a set of new ones in the UK, same seller I got the D parts! I also received my parts from Ian (METER RAT), thanks very much! Working them right now!

What rotation method did you employ?

I used a henglong rotation box and turret gear on the older clutch drive tank retro fit upgrade.

On the 2010 static release kit, they are totally different, they are set up for a standard Sherman or tiger Tamiya rotation unit.
