I have the Roban (Rotorscale) MD 500, 470 size and a Flywing 450 V2.5, which I installed into their Airwolf fuselage. Both fly amazingly well but I find the MD500's bigger size to fly a bit more stable, so you may find this as well when you compare the 470 Rotorscale to your 450 Flywing. There is a video that MotionRC put out about the retract mechanism getting loose and how to reset and fix it. Check Motion's YouTube channel.
Yes, these new GPS choppers are quite pricey but these are the only ones that I can fly. The pre-GPS helis were nearly impossible for me to fly beyond a short hover. I don't do 3D with them. I fly them in circuits and as such, I'm allowed to fly them with the other airplanes at the field. I started with just one GPS heli and said that was it. They are just too expensive. I now have 4, one more coming.

Just got a new 470 airwolf today, built it, put in my crossfire radio system and flew it. I am very happy and impressed with it. Didn't realize it is closer to a 500 size helicopter than 450. Very nice!Leave a comment:

I changed the Radio on my Bell 206, the only receiver I got the helicopter to work with used sbusLeave a comment:

Is it possible to change the Radio? I prefer my Radiomaster TX16 and I think I want to use it with ELRS (may put my ELRS Gemini Rx for best link quality). Or maybe I can just bind it to the multiprotocol module? What do people think about using a different transmitter with this helicopter?Leave a comment:

ALL endpoints should say 100%. This is the primary reason why I don't unlock these TXs - for fear of screwing something up. Of all GPS helis I own that uses this TX, I feel they are all pre-programmed the way they were meant to be for that specific model and for most owners.Leave a comment:

I am having a problem with my Rotorscale Airwolf 470. have about ten flights on this heli but now it does not want to Take off . I may have messed with the End point adjustment on the transmitter. I wait on the slow blink green light Move the throttle stick right in down hit run and no blade spin up1 PhotoLeave a comment:

Hey all, I just recently received my 470 Roban Airwolf.
Having a helluva time getting the landing gear to cooperate.
It either doesn't want to fully retract, or after I make adjustments, it won't fully extend.
Part of the issue is that the grub screw isn't always in the ideal position to make the adjustments that I need.
I've watched every video I could find on this issue, but none of them help.
Also, while facing the helo, the main left side connector rod ( the long one) really arches when I retract the wheels. I've also tried to adjust it to no avail.
This thing is about to get introduced to a baseball bat!!
Any ideas, suggestions? Thanks in advance.Leave a comment:

Just got done finishing a repair on my Airwolf which involves me replacing the tail motor and tail rotor propeller. . When I went to install the nut I couldn’t get it to tighten all the way down but was only using a needle nose pliers. I guess I need a socket wrench to get it to go down further until it clamps down and locks the propeller. Correct? Also which way is the tail propeller mounted one side has a flat smooth surface the other side has grooves. I assume the grooved surface faces out. Is that correct?Leave a comment:

Mine flew one time and now won’t fly at all. My retracts and lights work off the transmitter and all I did was turn fly mode on so I could see which mode I was in when I flicked the switches. Can anyone s d me the settings on their radioes for each of the flight modes ? I’ve tried everything and customer support has not been able this far to helpLeave a comment:

I highly recommend you remove that tail support rod as soon as possible. If your helicopter's landing gear malfunctions, its main rotor blades will hit the ground and be destroyed. Mine did not have it installed, and the landing gear gave way, causing the helicopter to fall on its belly and the tail propeller to scrape the ground slightly. Luckily, there was no damage other than a slightly scraped paint finish on the propeller. My landing gear was malfunctioning upon unboxing due to a loose grub screw on the rod to the right of the front wheel. It caused the front and left wheels to extend only halfway and not all the way to the locked position. Those two wheels were also moveable when extended until I called and talked to Tim at Motion RC, who directed me to tighten the Allen key.
I am glad I noticed the issue, as it could have resulted in a rollover when landing the heli.
My tail started to split when threading in the tail support rod. I only threaded it in about half way and then bent the rod a few degrees to compensate for the remaining length. The windows do have film on both sides. I had to use a table vice to press the side gun rods into the outer covers albeit very gently and carefully.
You can check out my heli's maiden flight here.
Have a great rest of your night 🌙 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵 👍🏾 😁 🇵🇷Leave a comment:
