Working on thrust vectoring. Got everything fitted awaiting final assembly. I got 5g coreless/digital servos and found a spot where there’s a gap to feed the servo wire through the fuse directly under the vertical stab. Then I simply connected the TV servo to the elevator servo using a “Y” cable and will reverse one of the elevator servos once the programmer gets here from Motion. Very nice that the stock servos are smart/programmable. I will be running Tailerons so I will just reverse the right TV/Elevator servos together in my Tx.

keep in mind the TV servos are not fully installed. They will be recessed more.

This is what I've been waiting on. Will you be posting the files somewhere?

Has anyone flown with tailerons? Is it worth the effort to set them up?

Yes, there's no effort other than plugging the elevator servos into your receiver and setting two elevators and a mix in your radio.

Of tailerons? You haven’t ever done them?

Yes, on my Su-35, F-14(x2), F-16, and F-35. What is the benefit for THIS model? Does it roll too slowly with ailerons alone?

Same as other planes more roll moment and easy flat spins. More stable in high alpha.

I’m running tailerons on mine as well not saying it flew bad before but after WOW 😮 just spins turns and did I say landing flap killer slow alpha’s hell yea I did. Mine broke 128mph today while flying 4:30 not including taxi out on a grass field coming down with 54% running SMC 53/4600 packs. I did Navigation lights on mine as well as the 90, figure with shorter days ahead lights are needed for my messed up eyes. Can’t say I’ve flown anything that builds confidence and just begs to get tossed around like the 70 Raptor has turned into my daily flier

Well, I have a spare channel and I was debating tailerons or independent nosewheel steering for it. I guess I'll try tailerons.

The disadvantage of tailerons is that you have to be careful not to exceed the servo travel limits when the ailerons and elevators are at their extreme positions.

I have nose wheel gyro set up on mine did away with reverse thrust on a grass field didn’t see the need to be honest. By far I have to say this is the best 70mm plane I have flown to date and gonna be a hard job to surpass

Started another custom paint scheme on mine the J10 (90) headlight works also and is a little smaller. Here’s the beginning share more as it gets closer

Has anyone considered making this a twin 64mm setup? I know it would take considerable amounts of foam carving. Could someone that has the plane chime in on whether it possible...?

Hey Everybody, I just ordered my F-22 and I'm excited to get it in a few days and start setup, but I need to order some batteries first.

I'm deciding between SMC 22.2V 3400mAm, 4400mAh or SMC HV 3600mAh later once they are in stock. I want to strike a good balance between a highly agile playful jet and good flight times. How noticeable is the agility difference between the 4400mAh and 3400mAh LV SMC packs (or similar)? I may just get one of each for now.

My other question is should I completely bypass the blue box for everything if I want to use tailerons and an AS3x+ receiver? It looks like there is a plug in, inline sequencer for the nose gear that doesn't require the blue box?

I've already started setting up using some of the Two Brother's RC setup guides for the 90mm F-22 and 90mm F-16 for mixing and starting gains. Does anybody happen to have some good AS3x+ gain values already? I'll be using an AR8360T+ (1 aileron, 1 flap and Dual Elevator with mixing for tailerons) and either stabilized nose wheel or thrust reverse. What are some good starting points for control surface rates, expo and flap settings?

This doesn't have the usual "blue box". The black box is nothing more than Y's for the elevators, flaps, rudder to nose steering and retracts. There is no retract door sequencer in it, it's a separate little board, and it does have light outputs that aren't used. The two rudders come already Y'd together too.

Definitely bypass for tailerons. I also suggest bypassing for rudder and steering and putting steering on it's own channel.

Bypassing the rest is up to you. You'll just need a couple Y's and a triple for the retracts.

I bypassed it all and put the receiver, satellite and sequencer under the floor, it came out very neat. Also reroute the servo wire how they come out of the wing and under the battery floor so you can move your battery back.

I don't use gyros so I'm no help there.
