A little off subject but I loaned my 1220 Ranger to a new club member, when I flew her was from pavement but on grass nose dive city, I did the same for him added a LW taller wheel 🛞 and for the most part no more nose dive take off or landings. Amazing adding just a little more area makes for grass ops. On a positive note the 70 Raptor has been 💯 on grass ops no bent gear etc to me the best 70mm plane bar non

I honestly don’t pay attention I’ve always bench set mine up after learning the hard way of not. I think my flaps were fine but elevators were off again not an issue since I bench everything before my maiden then adjust accordingly. My throws are 150/125 also not sure if that makes any differenceOriginally posted by landonl97 View PostHi everyone. I have mine mostly set up and I've bypassing the black box and am going straight to a AR8360t and using tailerons. Control surfaces work as intended but my only question is did anyone else have their flap and elevator alignment way off from the factory? Flaps are almost at half flap position and elevators are at about half up elevator. Servo horns seem to be centered on the servos. I'm not sure these pushrods will allow the level of adjustment needed to center them. It's almost like the pushrods are flipped between elevator and flaps. Maybe this is because my travel is set to 100 rather than 125 or 150 and the zero point is off for flaps at least? The lengths are correct according to the manual. Linkages shows at factory length in the photo.

I hope I ve kicked the habit now with my landings, but i ve had no luck with the freewing jets specifically the wheels, dont get me wrong they are awesome and I fly them all the time, they are the best flyers, but I have lost at some point all the wheels on my planes, after regluing them once they never come off. Heres hoping the Raptor 70 breaks the mold!!!

Hand launch?
So I have the 64mm and the 90 Raptors. I fly mostly at a grass field that even the 90 has a hard time tackling but the field is close and convenient. So, with the half dozen or so smaller EDF's I have, I hand launch and belly land. My thoughts are if I pick up this 70mm is use the 5500 120c SMC's I have that are 655 grams, less than the Admiral 5000's 746 grams I've seen being used. I'll yank all the gear and convert this into a belly lander using the main gear wells as a grip to hand launch. I did this similarly with the 64mm but, with the 70mm I gain speed, flaps and rudders. That flat bottom should make for an easy lander. To protect it I usually coat the bottoms of my little EDFs with a layer of 30 minute epoxy and the madatory 2 coats of Minwax.

Should be OK, since it's quite light. If you use Spektrum, use the hand launch assist feature of AS3X+Originally posted by Fury3 View PostHand launch?

I set mine up with tailerons and nose wheel gyro but loose reverse thrust on a 8 channel. Not a big deal the 70 lands slow and I’m grass anyways, performance wise of my Lordy yes does she handle like a dream with tailerons and my style of flyingOriginally posted by ArmorBolt View PostI'm thinking using an 8 channels receiver and have one spared channel for tailerons setup..Someone mentioned with Tailerons setup.. enabled the Raptor doing great flat spin, and high alpha, does it help for any landings. Should it be enable during landing. Thanks.
