Manual schmanual That plane needs a manual ? LOL Just kidding. It is one of the easier build and setups I've ever seen. In fact, when I first maidened mine, I literally did not need any trim. Not even a smidgen . A rare event. It's arguably the best 70mm edf out there..

LOWER :)Originally posted by GregC540i View PostI love this plane so much that I had to build another. I've always wanted a T-45 GosHawk, but couldn't see myself getting the 90mm version from Freewing. Since these planes are so similar, I decided to paint my KIT in the T-45 livery. The paint scheme was so much easier than my BAe Hawk 1. I then asked Callie Graphics to print me out this version of the T-45. It turned out pretty clean! I maiden her last weekend and she flew nice. Still my landings need to improve. I was mostly flying her with the Roaring Top 4500mah 45C 6s batteries all the way back. She was a lot more nimble than my BAe. It is most likely due to that fact that I fly the BAe with a Roaring Top 5800mah 35C 6s battery all the way back. Enjoy the pics I got of her Saturday morning.

Here's a little more directional assistance.Originally posted by welshman View PostBeing an old mechanic, and not much of a modeler anymore, my tools are a little large for the gear upgrade.
Can anyone shed some light on the hex size for the job?
My first set of modeling Hex tools was these DYNAMITE (still have/use them)
EDIT........I forgot that Motion has these Dynamite
But as a skilled HD mech there is times when a quality set of wrenches is required. Got these PROTEK also.
Now you have some choices which includes a 1.5mm ;)LOL

The standard on these ARF's nowadays is metric. Even the US car manufactures are moving away from the SAE fasteners.
A good quality set of 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm and 4mm Allen/Hex drivers should do you.;)

Hex? Do you have a set of small Allen wrenches for the grub screws ? I just grab a few and feel around for the one that fits. No order to it. My Dad, who was a mechanic in the war, would tell me " You're about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle" LOL

if you're thinking about it, go for it. Can't be beat.
+1 . It is for the money, that's for sure. Can't really go wrong. Got in a few flights today using the Admiral 6S 50C 5000mah. I do think she fly's a little better without the oil tank . Lots of nice comments from the peanut gallery

Here's a pic of the mesh tape I used. I think it's called Fibra tape. Seem to recall getting it at Ace hardware or Home Depot. It's got a mild sticky backing but not strong enough to hold anything. After first wicking in some thin CA to the joints, I cut and applied some strips of this tape to the inner and outer walls where these joints are located. I then rubbed-in some Foam tac all over the mesh with my finger. It's pretty darn secure IMO.
