    Thank you Alpha!

The radial is indeed a 3D printed kit. A fellow in Germany makes it. He also has uploaded the STL files so anyone can print it. Or you can order a kit from Peter. He is on RC Groups and his page link is thus:

    • Hey, does anyone have a paint code for the blue trim on the wing tips and rudder? :)

      • Easier to take a piece to Lowes or Ace and have them scan it, It'll give you the correct paint match in a sample can for sometimes under $5

        • Thank's G-man. I did that with my FMS P-40. Two of three colors did not match when I got it home. So I am a little gun shy about that method. :)

          • It happens, unfortunately.
As someone who does landscape and portraiture, I love mixing paint, so I will take a small amount out of the can and see what I can do to lock in the color. It also depends on who does the mixing, I have a guy at our Ace who is amazing, he'll shake the can, pop the lid and go in there with a stir stick to get the excess color off the sides off the can and shake it again. Remember, this is a $5 sample can, how can you get better customer service than that?
I found that to make the brown color, you add red to the green with a bit of white.

            • Picked up a PNP Eflite T-6 a few weeks ago to fly with my 32 year old son. We bought him one for Christmas last year. I got to fly it a while back and really liked the way it flew. They've been out of production for a bit but I was able to find one at Atlanta Hobby. I've always liked the Navy gray, yellow, orange scheme and was able to find applicable graphics from Callie. I installed an Admiral 6 channel stabilization receiver and Robart 3" wheels and the finished product flies amazing. My son's is still in tbe Air Force scheme and we regularly fly them in formation. Great airplane.

              • Does anyone know what the CORRECT part number is for the servo wing connector? According to the Horizon website, the show the part # as EFL 8758 and the correct picture of the connector. When I order that part #, it's a "Parts Kit" with screws and control horns. (See attached pictures). I know HH discontinued this, but some remaining parts are still available at other distributors. I just need to order the connector and prop adapter.

                • Frankly I wouldn’t trust anything on the HH for source info at the moment until they finish rebuilding the website systems as announced last week.

No Joke. That's the biggest mess I've ever seen.

I agree that Home Depot or other places like Ace Hardware can get close, sometimes very close that it is hard to tell the difference between new and old. But when I needed a spot-on match for fixing some dings on my B-2 Spirit, I really needed an exact match. This time, I went to a Sherwin Williams paint store in town with a part of my model to see if they could do better. Their paint computers, not to mention the dedication of the workers trying to get the match for me, was "par excellence." I was really impressed. It was truly a perfect match and when I thinned it for my air brush, I really couldn't tell the difference between factory and the repair coverings I did.

It costs more than the other places like Home Depot and the rest, and I'm certainly not knocking any of them; I've used them for years. But for my money on scale projects, I go to Sherwin Williams now. For what it's worth.

                      Good luck!

                      • oh boy... did I fell down a rabbit hole! I saw that they rereleased the T-6. I still had the V1 and loved her dearly, however, 3s was just really... meh... so I got the new motor and ESC. Easy fix and nice short project... right? NO! during the installation of the motor I noticed how much this fake air intake bothered me... so I 3d scanned the fake scoop and build a new one in cad and 3d printed it. To allow airflow I cut some holes in the side. Behind that will sit a also 3d printed rack holding the esc so it gets cooled a lot better than under the battery tray..... ok.. fixed...well the exaust looks really off.. the original one has a huge pipe coming out of there.. nonono we cant let that be.. so remove the original part, scan the area and create a drop in replacement you can 3d print... ah a lot better!! now I am done.... well.. the wheels kinda bother me too.. okay put some robart on... but they are way to skinny... kinda like the bulky look of the original wheels.. just cant stand the hubs.. okay lets design new hubs and cut the foam to fit! Easy!... oh the landing gear is lacking some details... i wonder if I can find a original production drawing from back in the days do 3d print super scale landing gear siccors. When I will be finished I will add all those parts to cults so you guys can upgrade your t-6 or SNJ too! Right now I am planing to make a Harvard style exaust in case thats more your thing, a tailhook and some antennas like the teardrop thingy aft the cockpit. If you have any suggestion please let me know!

If I have not done so before now, allow me to welcome you to Hobby Squawk.

                              Glad to have you onboard.

I, also, wanted to write and let you know how impressed I am with your T-6 3DP designs.

                              Very nicely done, Sir.

                              Keep posting your progress, please.

Thank you so much for the warm welcoming and the kind words! I am here for quite some time but more to quietly admire works like your B25 conversion. I think it went as far that we brefly chattet about your conversion in DMs but that was about it.. I have so many projects I am working on right now and I finally get my workflow from 3D scann to 3D Printed replacementparts sorted out. I am also working on a FW 190 Conversion for that E Flite 190. This thing is so wrong in so many places that I cant stand it. First try was to scan a FMS 190 and copy the details which is fair enough but I recently got permission to 3d Scan an original FW 190 A8 so I wait to get those scans and move on from there.
I also think about making a S8 Conversion for my FMS 190.. :D And about 30 other projects I have Ideas for.

here a quick peek and I think thats allready a 100 times better than the original E Flite MG Cover.

Are you using LW PLA for the cowling?

                                  If so, great detail.

I have been experimenting more with LW PLA, though tuning the prints to eliminate most of the artifacts has been slow.

                                  Really nice work.

No that was I belive Glasfiber reinforced ABS. I basically did the brute force approach and just scanned the FMS hood, scalled it roughly to size and then made a thin part out of the surface. Thats why details are pretty soft. And I guess it would be okayish but ... well I kinda have airplane autism so therefore its not good enough and I have to get better data :D even so, on a rational level, for a foamy that should allready be sufficient.

I am dabbeling in LW materials a little bit but cant say I am a huge fan of them yet. PLA has the obvious problem with heat and I don´t want to get any deformed parts in summer, I am printing the HO 229 right now in Aero ASA which is a lot better temperature wise but also hard to print.

But my oppinion right now is that the parts on the foamys like on the fms FW 190 are all made from ABS and if you print them thin enough it shouldnt be an issue. PLUS should i ever decide to share any files I want them to be as accessible to as many people as possible and don´t have the need for any expensive printers and super fineky materials. But I havnt made my mind up yet.
