Maiden it today and it flies very well,

CG was set at 110mm (in-between the cg limits) and it flew with a little down trim. not much of a stall.
The ga4000 has plenty of power.

Congratulations, that's good news. Still not sure what I'm going to do with mine. Did model have any bad habits? How was it to land? Did you fly off grass or asphalt?

I fly off a grass field , the plane has no bad habits and takeoff and landing was fine , hardly any rudder needed
The plane can fly quite slowly but still needs a bit of power on landing like normal also didn't seem to want to nose over like u see on some dr1 videos which as good...

the only downside is the number of screws to assemble at the field :(

Sounds great Terminater. Congratulations. If got a couple of questions, if you don't mind. Prop size, 10s or 12s? How much nose weight approx? Are you saying, it doesn't need much rudder for coordinated turns? I have the Nexa D7, was a total Pita to assemble, but it's a great flier, and it requires very little rudder to turn, you can really get by with just the ailerons.

Last question: How are you transporting this? Removing the parts of the wings or all?

running a 22x10 on 10s 5000 Mah, nose weight about 600 grams, i have set Rud and ail mix up with 30%
and transporting hmmm takes about 15mins to assemble, but 6 wing bolts - 8 strut bolts - 24 screws for the wing bolt covers.
VQ needs to think of a better way, copying Blackhorse wing joining system with the steel plate and friction bolt would of been better.

You have made my day! You actually are able to disassemble the DR1 for transport and then do field assembly??? Talking about the top wing of course. BTW still waiting for mine to arrive at Motion.

Do you have any pictures of the Triplane with the wings off ready to put in your vehicle ? Still waiting for mine ,building up a supply of things to get and buy for my Red Bird when she flutters in. Since I dont have the kit or the plans ,other than the motor and RC gear at a loss on what to get. If you can, can you respond to me here, if you dont please also respond anyway.. BTW Happy Holidays to all.

Do you think it would go in your vehicle with the wings on, with the plane sideways(what kind of vehicle are you putting it in ?). I would be in an Audi Q7,which is what I put my old Zirolli DR1 in.

well i have a Mitsubishi ASX and it wouldn't fit with wings on even sideways..

and assembly well it takes about 15mins, 6 wing bolts , 24 hatch screws , 6 strut bolts .. :)

When I said sideways,I meant sort of on an angle,your assembly time is not bad, do you use electric tools on it for screws and nuts? I guess I was spoiled by my old Zirolli tripe. My other big planes are a chore as well have 2 vintage bipes that are 15 years old both are huge but putting on the wings and struts are a pain. At least they only have ailerons on the top wings.

Terminater007 you said that you only had to add 600 gr to balance. where did you have your batteries placed.? Did you use two 5S batteries or a 6S and 4S combination? It looks like you could mount them in the cowel, in front of the firewall.

I used 2 5s 5000mah just behind the firewall, for nose weight i used the supplied plastic engine mounts with a steel plate between them and mounted the weight on that..

I am going to resume work on mine. I just bought a set of the correct size Spandau machine guns for it. Guy has a correct file for the late war version, and I am really tired of messing with 3D printers...Kit guns are same as the kit wheels, about 1/6th scale. Not really acceptable.
