Welcome. I see you took your photos where they should be; outside! Since you're coming from a modelling background, you are going to have twice the fun. Building, painting & driving, along with the fun/frustration of maintenance and repairs.

Let us know where you are from if you like. Many of us are in California, but there are members here from many states and countries.

TongDe M113 built into a fictional upgrade "airspace defender" variant.

Its mostly done except for some minor weathering to the wheels.

This will be used primarily for IR tank battling at the L.A.Tank club where I suspect it will do well in the CQB city environment of the battle field. Oh and its tank killing ability comes from the anti armor missile and launcher located on the left side of the main auto cannon.

here's how I store them...it's an RC car rack you can get from FMS.com or Amazon. $159, but it is worth it. All metal and infinitely adjustable.

Oh yeah, I have a HL Leopard tank going in that empty slot.

Nice! I found it lame that HL included a WW2 tank commander with the Leopard. So for now, hatches will be closed.

I would have them raised on wooden blocks, to help stop the suspension sagging. But your choice. What does a Scot know? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

If you're talking about the RC cars....yeah they are sitting on the posts with tires at full droop. It's either that or possible flat spotting. Not too concerned either way.

Oh I see what you are saying now. Keeping the tracks suspended is what prevents sagging. I really didn't think about it....is that a regular thing people here do? I'm open to suggestions of proper tank storage...

I think it is a personal preference as to whether you suspend the tanks with the tracks off any surface. Plenty do suspend their models, lots don’t, or don’t realise it is good practice.

MotionRC sells a bunch of Torro 1/16 figures, but detail is a bit rough. My eyes are old so not too concerned...lol.

Yeah, I wasn't that impressed with the Torro ones. Tamiya makes some nice 1/16 scale models and I found some better resin ones on eBay. The resin models take a bit of prep work i.e. washing with detergent to get the mold release off of them, but they tend to have better detail than the ones Torro makes. And they are large enough in scale that my old eyes can see how well I am painting them. I enjoy painting and detailing these vehicles almost more than driving them around.

Bought a Tiger 1 pro version from Motion RC. It was already painted in "desert tan" but decided to repaint in authentic RAL. 8000. Going with the 131. I don't have an airbrush, so I'm going to have to be creative with applying the khaki grey. Maybe a foam applicator or something. Here's the progress.

The PE grenade screens are a nice touch. What did you use for RAL 8000?

And don't take this the wrong way but the commanders copula needs to be reclocked about 180 degrees. The hatch should open towards the loaders/gunners hatch.

I bought a rattle can from Crosslink Paint. They are an industrial paint supplier. You can choose the type if finish you want and they custom blend it. I went with matte.
