Man how do you do stuff like this, great job! I want to try and convert an old Tamiya 1/35 model of mine that I never built but don’t know how to start off…

Thank you for the compliment! The Wolverine is an actual conversion kit by a retailer. The power and suspension is a store bought M4 Sherman. Having said that, the 1/16 scale is more conducive to conversions to radio control, 1/35 not so much. Parts are much smaller and therefore more fragile. I have done three "from scratch" conversions, a 1/16 Panzer 1 A and Panzer 1 B, and a partial conversion of a 1/35 WW1 British Mk 4 tank. The former two took a great deal of inventiveness and creativity, with a fair amount of dead ends. 1/16 scale light tanks would be somewhat comparable to a heavy 1/35 tank. I used as a basis Heng Long's 1/30 Sherman and Pershing r/c tanks. They can be found online or LHS's can order the. The 1/35 WW1 Mk 4 just required removing the Tamiya r/c equipment and substituting the HL stuff. Here are some threads.
