    RichJohnson Models N Stuff just got in some M60 "fording" exhausts for the TongDe M60.

    I got my hands on a preproduction sample shown here on one of my M60s. Note the rear grill is a spare I had to test the fit of the exhaust on and is not painted to match the tank.

    Tamiya re-issued their older full option kit Sherman recently. It is still widely available for about $600plus.

    I for one am interested is seeing the final street price. If they kept it well under $400 for kit and or RTR (which they have started doing for a few tanks) it will be interesting to see how well it does.
    It looks like it actually has brake discs and pads, which when combined with the stated differential system, is quite interesting and realistic. I wonder if one could adapt a standard DMD/MFU setup to use this gearbox, and what performance and functional differences there are, like for example could it still do a neutral-steer pivot? It also opens up possibilities for the tank to be powered by a (small) nitro motor, though I would imagine it would require a big reduction ratio.

    Yep. Pointless.

    Shipping dates and prices will be announced as soon as they are decided. Length: 376 mm. Image shows assembled and painted kit. The Sherman tank was a staple of the Allied effort in WWII, with a total of about 50,000 vehicles produced, among which were a host of different variants such as the M4 Sherman […]

    But to be fair, it is prototypical that most tanks have only one power source and require a gearbox and brakes to divert power between the two tracks. Let's see where this goes.

    The mudguards were removed on Churchills’ as they could prevent the turret from turning, if they were damaged. I am unable to answer why they are missing from the Crusader.

    He mentioned this recently in a FB thread, can't remember where. A couple of years ago he posted a picture of the then un-released Stuart that also included an M8. Someday!

    "Rivet counter" = person with an emphasis on complete accuracy. In other words, they want to make sure every detail, screw or rivet is represented on their model.

    You could ask at the RC Tank Warfare forum. A lot of rivet counters there.
    if said w/ negative connotation;
    It's easier to call someone a name and dismiss him, than it is to address the specific point.
    If said w/ positive connotation;
    effectively minutia of details help me improve my RC models as a whole piece of history in 1:16 scale
    either way ,.. thank you
    you improve my vocabulary
    Since i am Canadian french speaking dude
    i didn't know the meaning/expression ''rivet Counters''.
    cheers PZ Loco

    About the Coolbank Crusader tank,..
    already ''torturing''' myself on what to do with the sandguards.
    Does anybody had answers/explanations on why so many crusader (ww2 era pic) had the front sandguards missing?
    is there simply out of the factory conception /or field modification (battle damaged)
    cheers!! PZ Loco
