  • Hello,
    About the upcoming TORRO Sd.Kfz.251 ausf.D - pre-order scheduled for MARCH 2025
    Info about it re-appeared on ZANDATOYS website.(CA / U.S.A)
But to make things complicated; it is the ''old'' camo scheme that is advertised.
Not the latest one presently found on the TORRO site. (2nd batch)
as for the specific figures created by TORRO for this released; no leak/info about it :(
    Cheers!

The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

      • I am. Wry excited that TD decided to listen to the poll for suggestions.
i just wish they would have done the Leoaprd 1. Like the M60 series release they could have made one chassis and 3 different turrets with so many customizing options.
oh well, this is still exciting.

          Indeed!
          with so many released
          my interrogation is ;
if TongDe will be able to assured a inventory/availability of their tanks?
And accessbility parts/pieces for their tank.
          Cheers - PZ loco

The parts accessbility is Tongde's weakest point. TD parts are very difficult to get. They designed them to be HL incompatible which will hurt them. RC tank is a small market. HL keeps good relationship with 3rd party upgrade and spare suppliers. I am not buying more Tongde tanks until they change their policy.

If you buy the TD Pro "metal" version there is little need for aftermarket or even spare parts. Good gearboxes, metal arms, wheels and tracks. It's the all plastic version that are problematic where parts breakage is seen often.

Also new TD 3.0 is actually about even with the HL 7.0 system as long as one does does IR battle their tanks.

TD is TD and at this rate they will be setting the standards soon. I was laughed at by the Tamiya folks several years ago when I said HL would become the standard. I was right then and I see it happening again unless HL starts listening and releasing new tanks more often. And I am not talking about simple reworked WW2 tanks.

              • Well we are seeing Hl up their game now competing with TD.
the M60 is a superior drive train with its tortion bar design and Henglong is now moving their modern releases that direction upgrading their chassis design for better performance.
                Competition drives a market.
I have had a near steady stream of custom M60 build commissions coming my way since summer.

                • Motion said they hadn;t heard of any new versions of HLs coming in, I wonder when they'll actually be here

                  • Motion sells their own versions of the HL tanks, different than the ones you'll find from Toucan, the main U.S. seller.

Motion would not tell you if they knew. That is just how they do things. Most likely we will see a new or reworked HL shortly after the CNY.

Currently HL has been focusing their efforts on improving their tanks by adding torsion bar suspensions and ditching the old spring suspensions. This is a direct response to trying match TDs suspension offerings. Competition breeds improvement's especially when the competition is in your same price point and targeted market segment.

HL had best step up their game as TD is catching up fast.

                      • I wish they would've released the Crusader before the LeClerc as I have the files to print my own LeClerc. Besides, been on a British kick lately. It is nice to see a company expanding the tank line up regardless of the model though.

TD has an excellent metal drive line son all their Pro tanks. Much superior to HLs. This is where TD really shines.

The LeClerc is aTongde product. The Crusader is under development by Coolbank. They are separate companies now.

Very true, my plastic M60 with bearings is impressive as all get out, I can run a ruler down the centerline smooth as silk.

                                      Like their Stuart tank,
The trial video sequence of the Crusader reveal a speedy tank.
On a personal note; since the crusader had a bad reputation in real life.
Was hoping for a Cromwell or Mathilda version from Coolbank.

                                      • Coolbank posted some info on his FB page regarding a Matilda II. He showed a render of a suspension part and stated the suspension was very complicated but he is working on it. He did a great job on the M5 suspension. I wouldn't expect the Matilda for a year, though. I encourage folks to visit his site to express support for the project. Also, even though some say the real Crusader had a bad reputation, I recommend supporting Coolbank with their wallets when it is released.

every tank Coolbank has shown video of is ridiculously fast, I'm guessing they're using a board that doubles for RC cars etc, but the M5 is hoot to drift aRound in the snow ")
