I'm also counting down to 29 March... it's going to be absolute carnage at the field!
I've been stocking up on black bin bags and Foam-Tac ... tick, tock....

Thx Paulrkytek, just needed to cut one of the wingtanks in half and the firefly cam fitted perfectly well, fixed with velcro. Flew my maiden even without a counterweight on the right wing the T-33 is just an amazing performer in the air!Originally posted by paulrkytek View PostWell edited video JP, love the wing cam shots
wish you a successful maiden flight with your great looking Su Flanker...👍

My picture story of the week: Freewing's RAF Hawk turned into a former Swiss Air Force jet trainer (in service from 1990 - 2002)...
... then meets its big brother displayed at the Swiss Air Force Museum in Payerne/Switzerland (Clin d'Ailes)...
... and was eventually maidened at Swiss Air Force Base Payerne - not the sunniest day indeed, but zero wind after the rainfall!!
some more snapshots:
Now for the story of the "fake" Swiss Air Force HAWK: Swiss Air Force (SAF) had 20 Hawks in service (immatriculations from U-1251 - U-1270), hence the U-1271 never flew for SAF - so why U-1271? After they went out of service in 2002, 18 machines were sold to the Finnish Air Force back in 2007 - when we intended to display a former SAF Hawk at the SAF Museum Payerne / Clin d'Ailes in 2018, we asked Finnish Air Force whether they were kindly giving us back a former SAF Hawk. All of them were still in service in Finland, instead they offered us the former HW-310 Finnish Hawk that was in service in Finland (but never in Switzerland) from 1981 - 2009 with 5015 flight hours - In 2019 we arranged a transport by truck from Finland to Switzerland and repainted it from the Finnish grey into our white/red Swiss colors - for just a few bucks at a car paint shop ... 🙂

Hey The43rdHammer and paulrkytek, glad to hear you'll be furloughed from the dungeons on the 29th! I can't imagine how frustrating it's been for you not to get your beautiful birds out to play. Amazing how these politicians know the exact date the virus is getting out of town and heading home. My previous flying field, Markham Park, for the longest time has only been open to RC flying on Sundays and Mondays, resulting in "standing room only" crowds those days. Didn't know the virus took those 2 days only off from work, but gotta hand it to the brilliant people in charge on figuring that out.Originally posted by The43rdHammer View Post

My current field is out in the east Everglades and has been fully open since June of last year, hosting 5 huge events since then, so I guess the virus must be deathly afraid of alligators.
What would we do without all these "scientists".
