Good flight report, EDFjetPilot, 29 flights is fun weekend!
Bob, looks like an amazing event as usual, thanks for posting those photos. Did you catch the first names of the pilots? We'd like to cite them if possible when we cross-post on other platforms. Better than using "Vanna White #1", "Vanna White #2", "Rosie The Riveter #5", etc :D

I had 29 flights overall between my FW A-10, F-16 and F-86 during the Jet Jam. Truly just a great event for us EDF jet pilots...from a great flying site, to great people, and now new friends.
Thank you Bob Belluomini for the time and effort you and your crew put in to make this such an outstanding event!
See ya next year,
Sean

Day 1 (technically). Overcast all day but helped to keep the heat down. Wind down the runway. A sprinkle rolled in about 3:30 but wasn't enough to get anything wet. Then skies were mostly cloudy.
Can't throw a stick around here without hitting an Avanti...had 4 up at one time today, and I think another 3 were in the pits. The FW A-10 count was up to 5, but one went down on a suspected Rx brownout.
Overall another great day of flying at the RC Field of Dreams!

The field here is everything I've heard and better...it is the field of dreams for RC aircraft...and I've been to some nice fields. Even better than events held on full scale runways/taxiways...no lights in the way.
As Sam said...just a great day. I spent the first hour doing taxi tests to align my nose wheels on pavement, since it's usually not as critical when flying from my home grass field.
Then put 4 flights on my FW F-86 and 5 flights on my FW A-10. I have 12 Admiral 6S/5000/50C batteries and just couldn't get them charged fast enough (needing them to properly cool first)...and the Jet Jam hasn't even started yet! Definitely looking forward to 4 more days of flying!

Other than being blazing hot, it was a great "pre" Jet Jam day. A successful maiden on my Avanti, a flight on my Mini Viper to knock the rust off before the maiden of course! Yea, been over a year! Attempted another go at the T-33 and same issue with the plane veering off to the right each time on takeoff roll. Still going to work on that one. Now i plan to build my FW A10, stock and plan jane it so i can get some flights on it this weekend. Now if the weather can hold off till Sunday or Monday for some good days of flying, should be a great Jam.

Could not agree more. Chris true was first to fly today.Originally posted by Alpha10 View Post
I think the most amazing thing about the JJ is not having the horrible sound of gassers or props ruin the sound of awesomeness coming from our efflux haha!
Music to my ears! :)

Yeah.... I hit a bad spot between Louisiana and Mississippi
Couple real hard bumps, so I pulled over and checked
Two old bungees snapped
Damage is repairable but... Ugh
Well.... Trip continues1 Photo

BTW...I got a great welcome from Mark and Judy at the hotel front desk. They were wondering what the event is about, so I took the opportunity for a little show and tell with my jets. Judy was really excited and may come out Thursday to watch us fly. Mark took a few pictures as well.

Absolutely! In fact, that was my first thought, but I didn't want to offend him. Plus, he often tells me he likes watching my EDFs fly.Originally posted by Alpha10 View Post

I'm inspired by those RC pilots that can do a slow roll the whole length of the runway...such a graceful maneuver when at a high speed.Originally posted by petefoss View PostThe best part (besides greasing a landing on your own plane) is watching guys fly. My favorite is watching Terry Nitsch do a horizon to horizon 4 point roll!
See you Wefnesday!

I haven't flown half of them..... and with my luck lately. .... I'm going to need a bunch to still have something to fly throughout the event!!
Wish I could have the Tams A4 done.... or few of the other half done projects ...but I think I have enough to keep me busy.... also looking forward to meeting everyone
Safe travels x2
Mike
I got to the hotel about an hour and a half ago. If you're coming up I-65, it gets horribly bumpy about 60 miles south of Louisville...so pack 'em well.

I hear ya...I'm the only one that flies EDFs at my small club as well. In fact, one of the "old gassers" asked me if I really thought I'd enjoy an EDF only event. Told him it would be great to see other EDFs and fly among similar aircraft.
BTW...looks like you're bringing three times as many planes as me. Looking forward to seeing a few of yours fly.
Again, safe travels,
Sean
