I'm in the same boat. One of the few edf guys. Most members enjoy watching my sorties. In about 10 minutes, I can fly two different jets while the gasser guys are still flipping their props to get their motors started.

That's what brought us to the Jet Jam for the first time as well...Originally posted by dusmmdb View PostI think I have a 12 hour drive but I don't really get to see other EDFs fly
im the only guy at my field who flies them
ill have to pull a trailer and figure out what to bring
There are always 10 annoying sounding prop jobs to every EDF at our field... but lately it's been picking up to a much better ratio.
I'll tell ya... There's nothing better than having ALL great sounding EDFs around and no gassers to ruin it lol

Swing on by for Thursday and Friday on your way to Muncie!Originally posted by RCjetdude View PostI am going to NEFI and almost have to pass by the Jet Jam to get there. I need to look into it further to see just how far out of my way it would be. I may be able to swing by for a short while.
Update: Looks like it would add about an hour and 40 minutes of driving to my trip.

I'll be taking my 80 and 90mm EDFs to SEFF. I know the grass runway there is better than my home field. I understand they have a few blocks of time set aside for fast movers. SEFF is only a 2 hour drive for me...so an easy day trip, although I'll stay a couple days. I'd also love to get to the EDF Jet Jam, but still thinking about the 10 hour drive.Originally posted by Robert Belluomini View PostIt will be great to see you at the event. We have such a great time! I've often thought about going to SEFF again, just not sure it's a good jet environment, especially with the faster jets.

It's 5 hours for us from Chicago...Originally posted by RCjetdude View PostMan I would love to make it to this event. It is a 6 hour drive for me. I need to think about it.
Last year was our first time going and now we wouldn't miss it... It's hands down the best EDF event in the country!
If you stay 2 days + it's definitely worth the drive! ;)

Unless it has changed, there isn't a runway other than grass.... I refrained from flying a few of my jets due to thatOriginally posted by Robert Belluomini View PostIt will be great to see you at the event. We have such a great time! Yeah. I'm excited to come. I've been out of the hobby for far too long. I've never attended a jet event but I had a lot of fun when I went to SEFF years ago. I was one of the EDF guys there since this was before the days of PNP jets with retracts!!! Crazy what you can get now for the price.
Of course I know I will be humbled by the craftsmanship and skill I will see from some of the builds. Hopefully I'll leave with some sound advice and some little known tips for being a better builder. That would make it worth wild.

There is 120V power at the field. Some larger users bring generators since the power is a bit limited in total capacity. We've been known to kick a breaker or two!
It's also not where we camp by the way so if you are camping you need to provide your own power if desired.

Bob I've never been to this event, how do most people handle charging?Originally posted by Robert Belluomini View Post
Chief many attendees setup their own pop-up. We have plenty of room that allows you to backup toyour space as there are over 42 parking spaces along the flightline. We have an RV/camping area at the east end of the field if you want to stay on-site.
