  • Thought I'd share one of my mates scratchbuilds that had its first day at the field today for some testing. Just over 6 meter wingspan, 4 turbines and 56kg of thrust. Pretty sure it's the largest 747 in Australia. Absolutely amazing model, the detail and finish is mindblowing. (At least to me). Once testing and certification is done, I'll be sure to post vid! :)

            • I really loved seeing the bronco buster. When my father worked for north american rockwell he worked on designing the electrical for it . Always wished I could find a kit for it.

                Cheers boys.

Starts with a big bank account and some huge foam blocks mate. :-). The jet clubs meeting this month is at Andrews, I'll see what I can find out for you. I'm still gobsmacked after seeing it.

                goodluck amleagon. :)

                        • G'day Shirty,
That makes my 134" Lanc project look small.
                          What a machine!
Those pics are better then a Playboy Pinup.:Silly:;)
I will bet that there will be a bare patch of grass where he stands during the maiden. The pucker action will be like the PACMAN!
I flew four missions with the Duchess Arlene today in great conditions even with a full 10/10ths cloud cover. The cloud was heavy so no sun glare to make it difficult but we could do with some rain.
I really do want to see some video of the 747. AAAAWWWWEEEEESSSSOOOMMMMEEEE
                          Regards and respect

                            • P-38 has lights/power on with honors to fly first this morning. Very low winds early this morning made for great flying conditions. 3 flights each on the P-38 and A-10. F-86 just two flights. Wish I could have stayed longer, but PaPa duty starting before noon :)

                                    • A few weeks ago, I picked up a new-to-me FMS 1.7m P-51D "Ferocious Frankie" from a club member who was down sizing his fleet. The Mustang was in great shape, except that the right retract was suffering from the systemic read switch problem. I replaced the retract motor/trunion assembly, cycling the snot out of the retracts. This is my first 1.7m plane (stepping up from the 1.6m P-38 and Spit IX). Yesterday, I flew it. Wow! I loved it. It wasn't overpowered by any stretch of the imagination, but it flew very scale. Takeoff, flight, and landing were sooooooo easy. I love my FlightLine P-38 and Freewing Me-262, and FL Spit, but this Mustang is definitely my favorite tail-dragger warbird. It's such a peach. Bounced my landings, but I'll dial them in, in future flights.
