Hi fellow Cat fans. I need some help. I have a NX10 transmitter and I want to mix the rudders to act like speed brakes. I’m sure this has been done on this model and other models with twin rudders. Any advice or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

    Tomcatters,

Great commentary from a former F-14 pilot and RIO about the Maverick ACT and what it would take to rebuild a Tomcat to flying status.

NEW: The F-14 Tomcat may fly again over the United States for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The Senate has unanimously passed the "Maverick Act," which would transfer 3 retired F-14Ds from an Arizona boneyard to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center museum in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Navy would reportedly supply enough spare parts to get one of them airborne again.

The bill was introduced by former Navy SEAL Sen. Tim Sheehy, and is being championed by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman.

It now heads to the House for final passage, possibly in time for America’s 250th birthday.

The last Navy F-14 was retired in September 2006.

    Now wouldn't that be something?!

    That would be great!

    All,

There's more detail about the "Maverick Act" in this article.

I think it was a rush job to get it on the website quickly and they stuck in bits and pieces of new information without changing any of the old information. I find that all these version designations are hard to follow considering they are distributed over various sizes of the same plane. I've seen V2, V3 but one has to look carefully to see if it's on a 64mm or 70mm or 80mm.
Once it shows up on the genuine Freewing site and on RC Castle, I believe we'll see all the proper designations and specs. It seems Raymond (RCC) has very close ties with the Freewing guys (and the FMS people) and tends to get the facts straight before it goes on his website.

I did the install already a couple weeks ago. It was quite straight forward, didn't take that long. I'm just waiting for all the snow to go away and for the ground to dry up. Our GeoTex runway gets very muddy when a plane rolls over it if it's wet underneath.
This is actually the 3rd powertrain in my F-14. The original was so gutless, I almost crashed it when it got too close to the end of the runway. So, I installed the powertrain from the "V1" A-10 - 9-bl, 1900kv. That improved the performance quite noticeably but still somewhat lacking. I'm hoping the newest powertrain will turn it into more of a rocket ship.

Interesting since it isn't listed as a V2 anywhere else. Just more confusion on this one.

Whoever is maintaining the website needs to get their act together and not just for this plane.

I've wanted a real V2 forever. I have had two of these and have a pair of 2150's and 100A ESCs ready if one comes up at a good price in the classifieds.
A lot of confusion. What does this new one really have? Inrunner or Outrunner? 9-bl or 12-bl? 80A or 100A? Reverse or not?

I just installed these into my original F-14.

Eg, FMS came up with version after version of their P-51, with very little changes between versions. Some would even call it blasphemy, but that's going a bit overboard. If it does have the newer 100A, it should have reverse. If it doesn't, that should be a "crime". Some of the current owners of the original have already upgraded to a powertrain much above what this V2 is offering. To keep it an outrunner with 9-blades is almost embarrassing. Many have gone to the inrunner and some even to the 12-blade.
I suppose like most of these V2 restocks, those who have been waiting for stock to come back, will jump on this while they still have stock. In that sense, the marketing works.
They need to fix the main landing gear too.
