The power system on the V2 is very efficient compared to the V1. I suggest you visit the SMC site and read the technical papers. You will learn a lot about the hype related to “C” rating.
Suggest that you spend the time reading all the posts in this forum. There is a lot of good info here.

After every landing, make sure that white tube is still attached. They can pop off even from taxiing on grass. Weird thing is it's quite difficult to clip back in but drops off and gets lost from the slightest knock.This is my V1. It will be passed on to a flying buddy too.
My V2 hasn't arrived yet. On the V1s, those of us that fly from grass, used to install a 3D printed nose gear brace. The idea was to take some of the stress off of the retract and mount. Is that doable on the V2, or would the follow up strut be in the way?

I was still flying my pre order V1 also, put the 12 blade 2150kv fans in. When the V2 came out, it had to be bought. Gave my V1 to a flying buddy who was very pleased. Great fun flying them togetherLeave a comment:

Evan…good point and adding that every connection spark vaporizes a tiny bit of the banjo spring. So, what works today may not work in the future. The banjo type have a more limited lifespan…I have proven that several times.
The split type hold up much better under repeated use.

I don't think a 9500 mah pack will CG. It may well fit in the rear lipo space as I used to use 2 Turnigy graphene 5000s in my V1. Stacked on top of each other using a 400mm strap. Those packs were huge and very heavy and I doubt his 9500s are anywhere the size and mass of those. Therefore he will need to mount his pack forward of the very large rear lipo area which will be impossible. Furthermore the current fans weigh 200g combined more than the originals making lipo placement even more problematic. I wager about halfway between the provided spaces, so quite impossible.
In short, inadequate connectors, no space available for achieving CG. I feel you're just making it hard for yourself. Just buy 2 x SMC 5200 80C green labels, really cheap and light for what they are.Leave a comment:

It does double and the standard "banjo" style EC5 will melt. Many that have 80 and 90mm EDFs running over 100A melt them. The split type of EC5 is better but will not hold up to 200+A. I would make my own parallel adapter where you have XT150 connectors on the battery and input to the parallel adapter and then, if you want EC5 to the ESCs. I also would suggest changing the EC5 connectors on the ESC to the better split type. Here are the two types of EC5 male pins, "banjo" on the right.

I'm having to rethink this. When the power flows from the battery thru the EC5 to the ESCs, does the connector actually see double the amps? I can see it if the power went the other way - ie, from the ESCs thru the connector and then to whatever is accepting the power ..................... (hypothetically say, going from the ESCs, then joining up in parallel and then splitting again to the motors - then the "join" gets double the amps.)Leave a comment:

So true. At peak, a "decent" EC5 can withstand ~200A for a short burst, 150A under normal operation. A "bad" one could cook itself. A different connector should be entertained. Or fly at 3/4 throttle the whole time. :yawning_face:Leave a comment:

Have you checked the dimensions of that battery? Will you be able to close the canopy where it has to live in order to achieve the proper CG?

Please clarify .......................... Do you mean you want to still use 2 batteries that act as one? IE, twin the existing connectors and then split them again to hook up 2 batteries? Or do you actually want to run 1 battery? Electronically, of course you can, but if you run only a single battery, balancing the plane at the proper CG will be hard. If you run a single 5000mah, you 1/2 the flight time. If you run 10,000mah single battery (if you can find one), it won't fit. As far as the UBEC is concerned, it's still wired to one of the leads, so it doesn't care unless you goof up the twinning and end up with a serial connection.Leave a comment:
