Yes, LB, these are my nightmarish version of "Scale Exhaust Nozzles". I was actually trying to match Tamm's Fusia Kitchen Aide dough mixer she saw that reminded her of me! :lying_face: They do radiate in the air!

Sorry, I didn't mean to be misleading...I needed to test the forum's ability to embed images so I selected a random image I had on my HD.

Nevertheless, Nice Work! I've had a bit of "heat" scarring on my F-18 and F-4 Nozzles as well. Maybe I should say "Extreme Heat", cause as you know, I go a bit overboard on everything!
I didn't realize how "hot" those RC Geek Afterburners really were.:lying_face:

Excellent work. Can you give the details on how you got that look. Paint colors, etc. I keep trying on my F-4 turkey feathers but haven't got the look I want yet.

Hey brothers, has anyone installed afterburner lights on this plane yet... and if so what afterburner light did you use 🤔

I have afterburners in every one of my EDF's, The RC Geek Burners (14 of them). The only EDF without them is the A-10. They won't look good in this one and as GliderGuy points out, the full scale does not have afterburners. Just my 2 cents!

Hmmm…,The full scale A-10 does not have afterburners!
Are you sure you want to go against the “scale” aspect of the plane? Gonna look odd!!!! (In my opinion.)

Tamiya X24 clear yellow, do few thin coats until quite thick. You can't put too much on . I airbrushed it but brushing looks just as good. Thin with a few drops of Tamiya x20. If you open the yellow bottle, there is just enough room for the right amount of thinner. It dulls them down nicely too if you're like me and think them a tad too bright for day ops.

An added note: Since you are purchasing a 5-pack, why not double the total capacitance to 6,600 uF?

I did this on my A-10 for added voltage stability for the receiver. Simply take 2 capacitors and connect them in parallel** to one connector for your Spectrum RX.

** Tie/solder both positive leads together and ditto for both negative leads.

for the 3300 uF caps i see amazon has a 5 pack already made,would you consider these ok to use,its has futaba ends but no biggie im running spektrum, the rec from specktrum is the 8 channel,i also ordered the chokes from amazon you suggested,just wanted yur input on these caps if they will work

Can anyone point me to what translucent paint to use to switch my first stock V2 A-10 slime lights to the proper green instead of blue? I don't mind the blue but I'd rather have the scale look. Much appreciated!

For a bit more reliability, consider adding the following:
-At least a 3,300 uF capacitor tied to an open slot on the RX. There’s a lot of big servos on this bird, so the capacitor will help keep the RX power stable when servos are moving about.
-As discussed at length on Hobby Squawk, large high-current ESC birds benefit from adding RF chokes. These have been shown to help maintain secure RX/TX communications.

These are considerations for any EDF jet…not just this one. EDF jet ESCs can put out a lot of RF noise.

It’ll be worth your time to read ALL the posts in this forum. Lots to learn.
