How? They're not available to order yet. Have you got connections?Originally posted by EDF-Jetpilot View PostI've now ordered two: one for my brother and one for myself. I'm very happy, but something will have to go from my hangar now...

OK, your attachment just showed, but it's in german (?). Maybe where you are, you can order.

Not available to order from Motion but it looks like a preorder from some other site. He got a good price too.

Yes, looks like it is a good price. I'm somewhat surprised at this since it costs more to ship this kind of cargo to Europe from Hong Kong than it is to California.Originally posted by Evan D View PostNot available to order from Motion but it looks like a preorder from some other site. As an aside, RCCastle won't say anything publicly on this upcoming model, but in private emails, he says he is very reluctant to sell this to our market due to the high cost of shipping. Apparently, the box is oversized enough that the shipping is astronomical. They indicate that on a case to case basis, they will ship it in 2 smaller boxes to get under the size limitation for that cost level, above which the cost is disproportionately MUCH higher ($400.00 plus range).

I wanted some 64mm F-22 V2 wings from RC-Castle, and Raymond said he wouldn't ship them to USA on account of shipping cost. Their box is MUCH smaller than this F-35's.Originally posted by xviper View PostYes, looks like it is a good price. Hello, I've ordered from www.hepf.com in Austria many times; they offer very fast service and sell at "introductory prices" for pre-orders. However, it can easily take six months for delivery, as Hepf doesn't yet have any stock, but the goods have already been purchased.Originally posted by xviper View PostHow? The only additional costs to this price are customs duties, which can range from CHF 100 to CHF 200 for this size... nevertheless, the price is very good in most cases when we Swiss order from AustriaOriginally posted by xviper View PostYes, looks like it is a good price. , as the difference between the Euro and the CHF, including VAT, is easily 20-30%.

You guys are lucky that you have a seller that will do that. Did you have to pay in full for this pre-order? Personally, I would be very reluctant to hand over that kind of money so far in advance.Originally posted by EDF-Jetpilot View Post

Yes, I paid everything, but with PayPal you can easily get a refund if needed. I'm familiar with Hepf.com and am a frequent customer, so I'm not worried. But good deals do come at a price. If you're willing to pay in advance, you'll get a better price... that's standard practice, for example, with holiday bookings. I'm not worried about it and have never had any problems with it.Originally posted by xviper View PostYou guys are lucky that you have a seller that will do that. There are some companies where I wouldn't do that, Horizon for example... they're not reputable when it comes to advance payments, and you can forget about getting your money and customer service afterwards, unfortunately! But as I said, I'm not worried about Hepf.ch, especially since I can buy it via PayPal.Originally posted by xviper View PostYeah, too scary for me. I've pre-ordered stuff from Horizon Hobby and they don't charge my CC until they actually ship.

This price of €959 includes Austrian VAT. We in Switzerland are also not in the EU, and the VAT was deducted for me, hence the good price. It will be similar for you.Originally posted by Alphonso View PostI just had a look at hepf.com and the model is listed at €959 expected late September. Perhaps the above price is with VAT removed as outside eu. I expect the same when ordering from Motion eu

If the landing gear is as good and stable as it looks, then this will be my perfect weekend plane, one that will impress my colleagues both in the air and on the ground. I'm really looking forward to it. The main landing gear struts look like they're made of plastic, but I hope they're still strong enough, and the same goes for the nose wheel.

They looks similar to other recent FW jets with metal struts and plastic non-functional accents.Originally posted by EDF-Jetpilot View PostIf the landing gear is as good and stable as it looks, then this will be my perfect weekend plane, one that will impress my colleagues both in the air and on the ground. Note the coil spring on the main gear 'brace'. Spring should provide some strain relief to protect the plastic during Navy landings.

Ah, I hadn't noticed that. I'm not too worried about the main landing gear; because it's so far back, it probably won't be under much stress. However, there's a greater risk that the nose wheel could take a hard hit during landing, especially from top to bottom (due to suspension travel), as that's where the main weight will be. We'll see when the first videos from private pilots go online—pilots who don't have to sell the thing and can be honest.Originally posted by Fast N Light View Post
