If that is not the case I'd suggest removing that question or changing the answer.

This is the ONLY reason I did not buy the F-14, I have set battery sizes and a lot of each size so I can fly a bunch when I go out.

I've now moved past the 4500's (I have two left) and using 5000's in my EDF's (all Admiral brand).
If you remove the rear battery floor, a pair of 5000's fit in there very nicely. The RC Geek removed the foam between the battery bay and the main spar and put 5600's in it. The plane balances just fine in this configuration, and Dave, I gotta tell ya, it is one of the sweetest birds you will ever fly. It goes from trainer to hotdog and back again, all in one flight. I strongly suggest that you consider getting yourself one!!!

I think I'm with you Aros, but strictly because of the money, a ride in an F-4 would be fantastic!

I see one ( non-flying) had a chewed up horizontal stab. Man, if you think about it there could be three generations of pilots go through these planes, I clearly remember the Thunderbirds and The Blue Angels flying these as well, still have some pics of that, pretty cool!!

Now about the new Freewing F-4.....

Single 80mm or 90mm would surely end up in my hangar.

Appreciate your comments, Alpha.MotionRC. Everything you said makes perfect sense. I would love to buy every EDF and Warbird you have, and I love talking about them. But when it comes to parting with the coin, it's a different matter. As a buyer, it's a combination of price of plane, battery situation (do I have to get all new batteries for this thing?), how different it is from my current plane collection, and whether or not I might have to hire a divorce attorney after making another purchase. I've got to space them out to keep the boss happy, if you know what I mean.

For your consideration, as a buyer of a bunch of Motion RC planes, batteries, accessories and spare parts, here's what I'm looking for:

EDF Jets - Scale looks, battery commonality (6S 5000), performance, and easy to fly. If it fits these criteria, then price is next (under $400 is very desirable. Over $400 is a rare exception, and can't afford many of these). Lastly, I don't want to have to buy a new radio to fly the plane. I have a DX-7. So, 7 channels is the max. Not going to drop $500 more on a radio just to be able to fly this one plane.

Warbirds - BIG !!! Lots of companies are making nice looking and flying 1200 - 1500mm warbirds. I have the Flightline P-38, and I love it. Anything that size is a real good possibility. I love looking at the other Flightline birds you have. But even of $199, they are just too small to add to the fleet, considering you still have to buy a receiver and more batteries. Now we're talking over $300 for a 1200mm plane. I could buy another EDF for that, as long as I could use my same 6S 5000 packs (like the Super Scorpion, F-86, or F-5). That new 1600mm Spitfire falls into this category. If the price isn't a bank-breaker, then it's on the very short list. Can't wait to see more about it. I really think big classic Warbids like that will fit the bill for a lot of us.

What I love about the P-38 is the thing is really big. And those twin props sound awesome on the ground and in the air. It draws a crowd at the field just by the way it looks. Any Warbird over 1500mm is worth dropping the extra coin for. Warbirds in the 1200mm range are just too small for me, even though they are a lot less expensive.

Would like to have the Tigercat, but I'm not in love with that plane, so can't talk myself into parting with the dough. Just too rare of a bird to get excited over. A P-61...now that's a different story. That would look amazing!

So, as you see, the decision is a very personal one, and you guys are in the great position of having to make something that sells and satisfies us hobby nuts at the same time. Good luck!

We love what you do. Keep up the great work, and thanks for listening.

Price and batteries are why I would prefer an 80mm size. Don't need all the whistles and bells. Scale outline, full flying stabs.no aux. inlets necessary and gear doors. Keep it light and it will fly right. The F4s that I've flown did not have flaps and they were easy to land. Just my .02

I'm in for a twin 70 or a single 80. I have a stable full of 4S edfs so twin 70's are preferred but the single 80 would entice me to move up to 6S. Camo livery is best for me. I'm in the $300 or less category of buyers. Keep up the good work Motion, I'm a loyal BUYER!

Like many others here, I would to see a large F-4. But in keeping with price vs performance, I see the following features that should satisfy most F-4 enthusiasts and the price point to make it sell well:
                              - This fuselage lends itself well for a single 90mm vs 2 70-80mm. This would also allow for the use of one battery and/or longer flight times. I like twins as much as anyone but still...
                              - The trailing link strut, though non-scale, are well hidden if doors can be fitted. Wheel doors are a must.
                              - Flaps, just because...
                              - I seems FW usually adds one unique feature for their superscale series:F-15, T-45, F-104 - airbrake, F-16 afterburner, F-14 swing wings (no, this was not planned originally, according to Alpha), A cool feature might be making the 2 canopies open though I suspect this would be a pipe dream. It would look really cool with this but should be trumped but having the twin afterburners. I won't complain if both can be done.

First off, welcome to Hobbysquawk! Those are all excellent points and I agree on most of them. Personally, I would love a scale strut for the nose since it is so visible, but trailing links for the mains would be fine. For the gadget, I would love either functional airbrakes or the unique leading edge flaps on the F-4C and D. Could also be converted to a J with minimum work for the Navy guys. For me, a camo Robin Olds paint scheme with a center line gun pod, drop tanks, Aim-9s and Aim-7s, and optional triple bomb racks that mount underneath the Aim 9 pylons would be sweet.

better plan a 90mm in the f4 as the real ones were gods proof if you put enough power on a brick it will fly....

Yup! A nice 8s capable single 90 without all the heavy add ons of the T-45... Nice and lightweight!

This is after they finally make a 90mm Rafale, of course! ; )
