    • No surprise announcements. They had already announced the BAe Hawk 2 weeks earlier. BTW, I can blab that Captain Mike loves that plane . On my list

Your wish is the same as my wish. A good flying F4 Phantom. A plane that flies as good as the new A4 Skyhawk . What a pair that would make. I could fly my A4, BAe Hawk( near future) F4 ( dream future) and A-10 all day long and sell everything else I own- LOL I would be in EDF heaven !
      Currently flying: Twin 80mm A-10, 80mm F5, 80mm A6, 70mm Yak-130, 70mm F-16v2,90mm Stinger 90, 70mmRC Lander F9F, Flightline F7F TigerCat, Phoenix 46 size Tucano, Flyzone L-39
      Out of Service: 80mm Mig-21,64mm F-35, 64mm F/A-18
      I Want: 80mm A-4, twin 80mm F4J Phantom

      • I still remember my FMS (I think it was FMS) 70mm F-4 Blue Angel many years ago. Gosh that thing flew like a brick with wings but I LOVED IT. I've been in Alpha's ear for a long time about nudging Freewing to build a large F-4. I'm still hoping!

        • If FW (or FMS) would come out with a great flying F-4, They would sell those forever. The F-4 will go down in history just like some of the WWII airplanes. You just don't believe how many flyers are chomping at the bit to get a hold of a good F-4. Just because they don't say anything on this site, doesn't mean there not out there!

          • Aros, I had the same plane. She was a brick indeed, living up to the full scale reputation. Wish I still had the vid but one day I was flying along when I puffed the esc. Beautiful white smoke trail out the tailpipes at about 100ft agl. Guys in the Pitt thought I had planned that... Nope.

            • TPS, with you..

The worse thing that could happen would be to come out with one like the LX or Eflight. Both nice looking but both almost non-flyable. I would hope they would keep it in the more affordable 80mm series. I can't afford to be buying $600.00 airplanes every 3-6 months. Right now, I'm eating my own. Sold my F7F TigerCat to help finance the A-10.

But we still loved that darn thing because it was an F-4 Phantom in the air!! LOL

I remember each flight felt like it was 1mph from stall speed. Just chugging along, soooo sloooooow but SOOO COOL LOL

                • I'd give my left boy for a Super Scale AF livery F4E. I'd give my right boy if it was modeled after this acft....

I got news for you Aros, from my time growing up on AFB's and some of my older friends that flew them in Viet Nam, they WERE bricks with wings. One said that the Phantom (my favorite plane BTW) proved that you can put enough thrust on anything and make if fly.

That is exactly why I have kept telling people that any RC model of the F-4 needs to be powerful. :Confused:The F-4 was heavy and not the most maneuverable but it was definitely the most powerful. That is just the nature of the beast and part of the experience.
It like it is impossible to have a pet tiger that wont grow to be too large, doesn't have a big appetite for large amounts costly meat and is tame. That is just the nature of the beast! LOL

Indeed! I think that's part of the allure. Such a brute-looking jet. "GET OUTTA MY WAY!!!" haha

                            • I'd go twin 80 if the cost could be held down somehow. Another $600 airplane ? I would go 70mm if it could be made in 1/9 scale to synch up with the A4. Maybe still have some room to add some bling like led lights or AB rings or both.

I would also like to see it in a twin 80mm and under $500 which would be a fair price if it has a lot of features. However I have a feeling that there might eventually be two F-4 models one smaller and affordable twin 70mm and one larger twin 80mm. Just like there is a 70mm F-16 and a 90mm because its popular enough to sell both.

As for the AB rings I would rather install center burner LEDs as they look more realistic.

Where do you get the center burner LED’s?

                                  • Well I hope they don't do what they did with the A-10. They priced me right out of that one. I was quite disappointed when I saw the price of the A-10.
