No twins please... Save the weight, hassle, and oscillating sound and stay single IMHO.

          • Personally I am hoping for a single 90mm myself.

                • I still would prefer one sized for a single 80mm.Wouldn't break the bank to own and fly. :)

                  • While a single engine does have its benefits of being simpler and more economical a twin engine also has its benefits such as more thrust and redundancy.
If there were to be an engine failure in a twin due to an ESC failure, motor failure or a fan coming loose the plane could still be limped back safely.

Take a look at this rare documented incident involving a Freewing ME-262 with and engine flameout.
Note that an engine flameout in a plane such as the ME-262 is a bit more tricky to fly because of the engines being mounted on the wings causing the the good engine to push it in one direction.
But in a jet like the F-4 where the engines are mounted next to each other this would hardly be an issue.

                          • F-4 Phantom II is one of my favorite jets. My Man Cave and wallet couldn't handle one, regardless of whether it's a twin 80mm or single 90mm. I'm running out of things to sell!

                                • That is cool! I just can't bring myself to stick a telescopic rod in one of my models, guess I have to learn to crash more lol. Those camera angles are awesome.

                                  • This is an outstanding POV. The beautiful scenery and day doesn't hurt. I asked him how he did it and he said using two CF rods with a Mobius taped to the ends (see photo). I love how he kept the rods out of the camera view. Stellar!

                                    • Very nice. I like the setup, I thought the cf would get more vibration that far out. Might be a different story on the avanti lol. Any idea how it was secured to the wing?

ps: I finally relented and bought a fpv racing drone for filming the models at my club to get some different angles. (I'm sure it'll go racing too) ;)

                                      • No I'm not sure how it was mounted under the wing. Yeah I suspect you're right with the Avanti. ;) I've had my eye on those FPV race drones too...Haven't found the funds yet with all these dang awesome fixed wing models coming out! LOL

                                        • Don't you think it's about time for a single 80mm or 90mm F-4? Been waiting along time.
