I have flown Flex products in the past and they are great, I have flown for the last 40 + yrs and started playing with stabilizers the past few yrs, not because I ever needed them but to try and reduce the pilot work load, especially on WINDY days, it is a lot of fun and does make the smaller ships fly bigger. I am hovering over the pre order button.

Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum. Good to see the discussion on the FlexJet.
On the Aura flight controller, it is great to be able deliver a professionally tuned aircraft to pilots... even those who do not know how to program or setup a plane well.
As we have said elsewhere, the Jet is setup with modest gains, no where near the limits, and it feels very natural (kind of like a mid size turbine jet).
The short takeoffs were not near full up... maybe just over half, it has a lot of rotation power. The power system engineering allows great (and effient) thrust through a very wide speed range. Of course it is relatively light.
Anyway, thanks for the interest. Overall, we are very pleased with how the FlexJet has been received.
Best Regards,
David

I notice that there is free shipping (con US) on pre-order sales. This doesn't affect me as I'm in Canada and you'll charge me shipping regardless. What I'm curious about is the current price (discounted). Will this price be the same when stock is available (after pre-order), since every plane on your site has a discounted price.

I'm thinking maybe you should try asking this in the thread on RC Groups xviper. It's busier and has more participation from David. My YouTube Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrz...4Q-xrOOtP2C-8w

I try to avoid RC Groups like the plague as much as possible and since he's posted here, he must be getting notifications of replies here. I'll just leave it as is. It's not that much of a deal breaker either way, however not answering tells me as much as if he did answer. Still not convinced this product will stay on my list. Same goes with several others in my area. We're all watching this plane and also any responses (or lack thereof) from Flex.

I would expect we could do a similar discount or contribution toward shipping (aka $30 value). I suggest you contact us directly by phone 866 310 3539 ext 1 or at sales@flexinnovations.com.
Usually an address is needed and the shipping is quoted on a case by case basis.
Tell them David sent you.
We also have Canadian dealers with some import expertise. You could contact them and see if that works.
Best Regards,
David

Thank you for the response. I did set up an account with address info. The check out shipping quote didn't work for me (maybe I didn't do it right) and I then sent a request via the contact form. So far, this is the only response I've received. I shall tell my flying buddies of this offer. Yes, I know of the 2 Canadian dealers. A couple of us have dealt with the one in eastern Canada in the past and there's even one here in Calgary. Unfortunately, several of us have a boycott going on for years with the local one, however, I'm thinking one of us will be the guinea pig and make an inquiry just to see.Originally posted by dribbe@gmail.com View Post

CORRECTION: Just found the reply for shipping cost in my junk mail folder. Don't want to post bad information. Thanks again.

This will be my 1st Flex model and I'm looking forward to it. I've seen some of the 3 D stuff fly out at SSF field while my "home field" was closed due to Irma. 3D is not really my thing but it seems like the Aura works well and the videos of the Flex Jet impressed me performance wise.My YouTube Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrz...4Q-xrOOtP2C-8w

The great thing about FlexJet for me is the capability for it to be 3D if I want it to be. Something I can't say about most (not all) of my Freewing jets. Flex will be a beautifully flying scale jet if I want it to be, or a trickster .... kind of like EF2000 or Su-35 .... The Aura8 pre-programming just ices the cake....power, weight, size.....all great and well engineered with alot of thought going into it.Originally posted by bill34207 View PostThis will be my 1st Flex model and I'm looking forward to it. Interesting that you mentioned "3D". By comparison, my SebArt Mig-29 is a true 3D EDF foamie jet but it has vector thrust nozzles and can hover. It's price point is in the same ball park as this FlexJet (slightly higher). Comparing this way, the FlexJet is not that expensive. However, without vectored thrust, the FlexJet may not be able to hover for long and that's assuming it has the thrust to weight ratio to permit it to go vertical from a stop. Thinking of it as a 3D plane may push me off the fence toward the FlexJet. Can anyone guess if it has a thrust/weight ratio of greater than 1:1?Originally posted by GPJ View Post

Here is a vid of the Mig being flown by someone I consider to be a "pro" at flying a 3D EDF..........................

Just ran across this video on Facebook. Looks like some people in the eastern part of the world are getting them into their hands

I noticed it a day after the F-4 was released for preorder (yep ordered one of those on day one). Normally I prefer dealing with Motion and buying the Freewing line of jets but I preordered one of these too a week after the F-4..
I was impressed by the flight performance and long flight times (videos from 1st page of thread), and with a little paint work think it could be made to look a lot like a T-50. ;)My YouTube Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrz...4Q-xrOOtP2C-8w
